Great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. It is an Austin gem that is usually booked up for wedding and such. But, if you get an opportunity to visit, please do. You won't regret it!

This is an astonishingly beautiful place. Be sure you have good directions - our GPS led us to the back side of the garden and there was no entrance from there.

Lovely museum created from the home of a UT art professor. He taught Farrah Fawcett in the 70s and the became lifelong friends. For some period of time you can see samples of their work and their long friendship. Even without the exhibit, this is...More

The garden provides a lovely, tranquil setting for the Umlauf sculptures. We definitely enjoyed our visit. Interesting to find out that Farrah Fawcett was a student of his at UT. Some of her works were on display in the visitor center.

We thought there would be pieces by many artists, but there were only pieces by Umlaut. This is a gorgeous setting, and the inside talks about Umlaut and his relationship with Farah Faucett and has photos and sculptures of her and about her, but overall...More

This Sculpture Garden is a shaded wonderland with stroll paths around a creek and pond with Umlaufs sculptures set in perfect harmony with the natural environment. This place will make you feel closer to God in contemplation of the magnificent biblical sculptures.

After visiting the beautiful sculpture garden in New Orleans, I was expecting a similar experience here in Austin. Terribly disappointed! Not sure of what type of experience the other visitors had in the past but would definitively not recommend it. The garden itself takes about...More

German imigre and UT professor Charles Umlauf has an interesting history, one entertwined with both World Wars, the Depression and with former UT student, Farrah Fawcett. Her artwork is currently being displayed along with that of her mentor, Charles Umlauf. The scene is a gently...More

This a lovely place for a leisurely stroll through a small sculpture garden. The sculpture is (almost) all by one local artist, with whom I was previously unfamiliar. There is a short introductory film about the artist. The small indoor gallery contained a temporary exhibit...More

Hi, Mitch. What would you like to know about this attraction? I am wondering if you felt that Um.auf would be open and space available to develop some living sculptures in topiary art there one the grounds. if donated botanicals and volunteer artists provided the time and talent did they seem potentially open to such a suggestion?

There are other places in Austin that might welcome such services, though. The Butterfly Garden and the Zilker Rose Garden, for ex.
