The trails are not long but the views are very good. You can see a long way in just about every direction. The hike up the steps can be tough if you are out of shape but worth it.

This is one of my most favorite places in Austin - It's a short climb up the hillside and the reward is exceptionally beautiful! River on one side and downtown on other - It's a beautiful spot for sunset. It used to be my go-to...More

It is a beautiful, steep-ish hike to get to the top, but worth every step! The view is amazing. You get to look over the lake and some of the city area. This area has much history, too. If taking children, be sure to keep...More

I went here with my aunt and cousin and i honestly wasn't expecting much, i thought just another mount with a nice view over looking water and some houses. However, i was super wrong! The walk up was pleasant and not long at all, and...More

We took the short hike up to Mount Bonnell and it was worth it. Very beautiful view. Would make for a great place to have a picnic. Only bad part is that there were quite a few people up there and a little crowded.

A must-see if you're in Austin! Great view, perfect opportunity for a good photo, and always a nice little stroll. Austin is filled with many hidden gems, and this certainly is one of them.

The climb was not as high as I remembered. The views are so nice! We went at sunset, so I was really not too hot and very pretty. Great photo ops!

Easy walk up some steps for some great views of the Austin skyline and some expensive real estate. Parking is easy. The steps might be difficult for older or out of shape visitors.

On a clear day you can see pretty much forever. Overlooks the Colorado River and you can wee from east to west of Austin

The short, very steep climb to Mt. Bonnell is worth the effort. Views are stunning. Wear sturdy shoes, as there are trails with rocks. It was sunny and a bit hazy the day we went, which affected the skyline view somewhat, but it was still...More

Yes. They have picnic tables & trash cans there in assorted areas but be prepared for a few people passing by & possibly asking for a bite of food!

If you're like most locals and are into fitness, you can rent a bike. If riding in hills is not your thing, you can use a ride-share app like rideaustin (Uber and Lyft don't work here).

Not long at all, maybe ten or fifteen minutes. It's not really a trail, just a set of steps up to the top from the parking area. It's absolutely worth doing, though, because its the best view in Austin.
