This street has some amazing shopping and good eats ! Cool and eclectic for sure. After trying on boots at Allen's, go for coffee at Jo's.

So many quirky art installations, great places to eat, true Texas shopping and wander along the S Congress, even on a cold wet day.

Sounds worse than it is but the street is full of fun bars, however, it is also full of homeless people, police and a lot of cool graffiti. I specially like Petes Sing Along Piano Bar.

This is a great place to take in Austin. Lots of cool off the grid shops and places to eat. Parking can be tricky so just read the signs.

Such a great area to walk, people watch and shop some unusual stores. Mixed in with the shops are some great restaurants, cafes and bars. We were lucky to have been staying very close to this area and were so glad we did. It was...More

Had a great time wandering in and out of the stores on SOCO. Wide variety of shops and items for sales. Also some street performers. Great for people watching.

Austin has a knack for understated, almost unremarkable, cool things to do. Nothing about SCA is prepossessing or remotely glitzy. In fact the opposite is true. The restaurants tend to be small (except the wonderful Torchy's Taco), the music venues absolutely tiny in comparison to...More

There are several on or just off of S. Congress, mostly boutique hotels. The exception is the South Congress Hotel, a full-service hotel right in the middle of the S.Congress activity. Boutique hotels include the Austin... More
