In town for a conference and had some evening free time to discover Austin. Congress Avenue is a fun restaurant and bar scene to check out.

To experience Austin, you have to experience South Congress, with all of the shops, restaurants and hotels. Austin wouldn't be Austin without South Congress! If you want to keep Austin weird, come visit the establishments of South Congress in Austin!

This shopping district is a fun place to grab dinner, peruse botiques, sample beer and wine on some evenings, and grab an ice cream cone. The people watching is amazing! Every month they hold an art show along the street on the third Thursday. There...More

It is a bit weird in some ways, but that's what Austin is all about. They even have a slogan that says - keep Austin weird.

We enjoyed the stroll but it was 103' so we opted for margaritas and beers in the air conditioning. There are fun murals to stop and photograph.

Totally worth the walk over the bridge from downtown to explore the local color of shops, restaurants and bars. Something for everyone and not a chain outlet in sight!

A lot of fun with a lot of things to see and the streets were busy. Definitely worth the trip to S. Congress Avenue. The shops are interesting and a lot of good bargains.

I love shopping in SoCo! There a ton of great shops that sell the work of local and artisans from all over the world. You can find jewelry, vintage clothing, decorations for your house, etc. There's a lot of off street parking but it can...More
