A wonderful walking activity about 4 -5 blocks long with cool shops selling local giftware (and of course, some typical imports), cool candy shops, clothing stores, restaurants and bars. If it's sunny expect lots of traffic, enjoy!

We stopped here multiple times while visiting Austin to eat and shop. The boutiques are high priced but offer hard to find, unique items. And the people are interesting too! There are open air vendors on the weekends selling home made items. It is safe...More

Everyone tells you to come here for the hipster experience, but was disappointed to see so many shops close between 5 and 6, since it is a tourist hot spot. By 7 everything, bar eateries, was closed. Expected more.

This is one of the places we often visit when in Austin because it is close to some of our favorite restaurants. There are a lot of quirky shops here, giving the feel of "old time" Austin. Our only complaint is the parking. Some years...More

I loved this area. There were so many restaurants to choose from. This area is definitely worth visiting again.

We enjoyed a stroll down South Congress Avenue on our way to Allen's Boot Shop, and the Continental Club for some music. Along the way, we had ice cream made with liquid nitrogen and a delightful Japanese meal.

Good to go for a walk and spend time. Have lunch, look in the shops, etc. After that not much else to do.

My daughter and I were looking for something in Austin to do on a Sunday afternoon. We decided on South Congress mainly to eat lunch at Perla's but when we got there we were both very surprised at the "crowdless" street, restaurants and shops. Almost...More
