This is a great layout and design, one of the best resort courses in Texas. I have been playing here for 20 years and this was the biggest disappointment I have ever had at Barton Creek. First we could not get a time, booking 2 months in advance, before 10:30 or 11:30 on a weekend. The resort guests evidently take... More

The greens were sanded sadly but the course was in good condition. A real challenge for the not so straight hitters and some lovely holes. 18 is very nice finishing hole and several are very picturesque.

Got to play this course in a tournament on a cold spring morning. The practice area was a long way from the pro shop, but there were regular shuttles to the driving range and back. The tournament started on time and a reasonable pace was kept. The course was OK. It had several holes with dramatic elevation changes and the... More

Excellent course with great views and challenging holes. The Pro shop was average. The course could have better signage when finishing 18 to lead you back to the correct pro shop.

I have a soft spot for this course and prefer it to the Canyon as well. Austin is always a favorite for me to come back to and this a good course to play and appreciate the beauty of Central Texas. It's not the best course in Texas but it's one of my favorites. It's overpriced, but worth the splurge.

Well layed out, lots of slope (elevated greens and tee boxes), immaculate greens, blind shots, it has it all. I prefer this course over Canyons (hopefully I don't have them reversed) because it is right there at the Omni, you don't have to take a shuttle. Just jump in the cart, swing by the range to warm up, and let... More

The hardest of the four Barton Creek courses and the most varied. There so many postcard holes on The Foothills that it would be more simple to describe those that are not. Even the short par four on the back which does not look like much from the tee box is a stunner once you get to the free and... More

One of the best in Texas. Played it many times. Can be pricey as a resort guest. Get a special package online...worth the effort.

The country club members usually play this course instead of Palmer or Crenshaw. It's long from the tips, but reasonable from the other tees. Water, sand, canyons, forest all come into play. Number 10 from the tips is the equivalent of hitting off the top of a 15 story building -- fun. Number 18 has a cave bunker. Yes, a... More
