Everyone knows Austin is a cool town so I decided to stay at this historic hotel right downtown. It was a great location, a beautiful room, and I felt like I got the royal treatment from everyone who worked there. The night manager, Elvia, was so gracious when I checked in and made sure everything was perfect. If you are... More

This is an old, historical, elegant hotel with several dining venues and beautiful decor. We tried their happy hour at the bar and were very disappointed. There is a happy hour menu that could be somewhat misleading as to exactly what items are reduced between 4 and 7PM so be aware as to exactly what category you are ordering from.... More

Went here for some upscale cocktails. The atmosphere and people weren't overly friendly but the cocktail were good (for happy hour).

We spent four days in Austin and wanted to stay (as we usually do) at a classic hotel, not just another Marriott. The good: ceiling fan in the room, comfortable bed, good bar area, big windows in the room, perfect location on 6th street (walking distance to almost everything), and it's historic. The needs improving: The bathroom is limited in... More

We stayed over the weekend while in town for a wedding. What a great place, full of charm and character. We stayed in a senator Suite on the Mezz Level. We love the high ceilings, VERY comfortable bed and nice details. Very happy we made this part of our visit to Austin.

Very nice hotel. We did not stay here. We went up the bar area for drinks on a Sat night. Very neat bar with a huge amount spent on a Reno recently.

Very pretty and in a great location for dining and/or a night on the town. The restaurant at the hotel is also first class.

Place is lovely but getting in and out of the hotel is a challenge with all the construction out front. Staff is very friendly but the construction is causing a strain on them.

Our friend earned her Masters degrees and we went to Austin to celebrate her success. She found this clean, easy to find hotel. The service was superior and the hotel has a great lobby and bar. Even though there was quite a bit of construction around the area and the hotel is off of 6th St., the rooms are quiet and... More
