So I've seen it from both sides. Opened for Willie a couple of times. Saw quite a few shows at the old and new venues. I decided today it needs more than just 26 reviews. It's a great venue. Great acoustics, great atmosphere in my opinion. If my 80-year old mother can get around in there, it's working pretty well.... More

The Backyard & Willie Nelson are a true Texas tradition and not to be missed! Get to the Backyard early, bring something else to do as you have to listen to at least 2 groups perform before Willie comes on stage but it will be well worth the wait! I LOVE Willie! (Side note...I hate that Trip Advisor limits dates... More

Having been to many an open, lawn seating event, I found the Backyard to fairly typical. Bathrooms were in fair shape. I'd like to see a little maintenance during the concerts just to keep paper towels and soap in supply. I do thing the parking lot needs to be improved and am looking forward to the improvements planned. Just be... More

First time attending concert at facility. Went to facility website to get a feel on how to prepare for event. Website indicated facility was newly renovated. Only thing accurate about description of Backyard environment is that is located in the hill country, that's it. I must admit parking was appropriate, how can you go wrong there. Once inside, we were... More

Came to The Backyard for the Austin 1st Jazz Festival and had a blast!! The bad thing was the old and broken folding chairs they currently have. At least for the price I paid for VIP tickets, we should've gotten chairs in better condition. Next time will pay much less and bring a blanket to enjoy the grass and not... More

It was spread out with rough terrain and multiple venue options. I don't see this place as becoming a place for future events until improvements are made.

My wife wanted to see Willie Nelson who was playing at The Backyard in Austin. Knowing that the traffic would be heavy, we rented a room at the nearby Hampton Inn. It took us 1 1/2 hours to drive from the hotel to the parking lot at The Backyard. There are eight lanes of traffic that must converge into two... More

Very cool venue for a outdoor concert. The place is located southwest of downtown Austin approximately 22 miles depending which route you take. The place is celebrating 20 years this July and truly is a unique place for great music. I saw String Cheese Incident there over the 4th of July weekend and the sound is amazing. They have a... a wonderful outdoor music venue. It's not a huge place, but not small. Everywhere is a great seat. They have good food options as well. I look forward to going back here for more music entertainment.

Tends to fill up fast. Bring things (cushions, etc.,) to make your visit comfortable. Sounds system is good, parking is decent...a great way to spend an evening.
