We visited on a sunny, cool day in December and enjoyed a nice walk through the park and pretty views of the lake. I envision it being crowded on summer days, as people go swimming and boating. There are picnic tables, game tables and a rock climbing wall.

Went for the first time yesterday. Since I am 64 I was able to park for free. It was a beautiful day and we really had the opportunity to enjoy the scenery around the lake.

It's really a nice place to visit with family. We had a bbq in there and it was pretty quiet and relaxing. We're really had a good time

We had an awesome time. Boat ramp was sloped just right and easy to pull a boat out of the water. The swim area is kind of hard to maneuver through a lot of boulders to climb over to get in the water. But all and all a great place to visit.

Had time to kill and wanted the family to see Lake Travis, Lake is beautiful but their were ants, critters, and other biting insects. The lady at the entrance was extremely nice

This park is nice they supply life vests for bad swimmers. No camping unless you are a scuba diver you have to go downtown for that to park recreation home office. Nice boat ramp real big so much fun watching non boaters try to back their boat down the ramp. Lots of families and bbquing great fishing too.

You can do it all here. You can fish in a cove or on the bank of the greater lake. You can launch your boat. You can grill at the various park areas. You can swim or float on a tube. You can go hiking on various scenic trails. You can camp.
All this is minutes from downtown Austin.

This was definitely the best place we visited in Austin. Clear, sunny day with perfectly blue skies was a God send! Lake Travis was a perfect blue. Sail boating, motor boating and fishing were a sight to see. Massive expanse with lovely trails, cycling, barbecue with picnic areas, clean restrooms were a treat. Fabulously maintained with a very small entry fee.

My husband, friends and I enjoy the views at Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis. There is a medium size free parking lot on the south side. The view below the dam of Lake Austin is nice but the view of the Lake Travis is mostly covered by trees. The dam is closed to visitors. There is some good fishing below the dam. LCRA has a park there as well and entrance fee is $8 per car. The LCRA has nice picnic tables, a playground and rocky beaches.

This pocket park is small, but well maintained and lovely. There are two enclosed pavilions available for rent, as well as clean public restrooms, a good-size playground, lots of covered picnic tables, boat ramp, diving access point, and paved walking trails. It would be a great place to ride bikes or fish with the family. Not sure if swimming is permitted in the summer, but it was a great place for a fall walk. I would definitely return with the grandkids for an afternoon or a walk in the woods. Day use fee was $10 per vehicle, which was worth it for the 2 hours or so that we hiked the park. Enjoyed it, and views of Lake Travis were great.
One word of caution: turning left out of the park (towards the dam) can be dicey in traffic. Cars coming down the hill from the Lakeway area are flying, and there's no stop light.

Is swimming here safe? I went swimming yesterday then heard about Naegleria fowleri. Is this a problem here?
