Granted there wasn't much powder during our visit, it was still excellent skiing. As an east coast resident, the majority of my skiing is on chattery ice unless we get a powder day once or twice a season. We visited mid-March and the weather was warmer than usually. The mountain did a great job grooming and maintaining the terrain (even... More

Alta Sports Shop: It took 2 trips but Dave solved an unusual problem, noting that an unremovable wrong-length screw was used to anchor a strap on my boot. He wound up grinding part of it down and then expanding the shell somewhat. When the boot fits properly, nirvana!

Skiied here twice during the first week of March. Conditions were great. Very friendly lift operators. Love it that there are no snowboarders.

I love Alta for its wide open ski runs and beauty and love that there are no snowboarders. (Nothing against snowboarders, personally, but they have less predictable paths than skiers). It was a little warm this past February so the snow might have been a little mushy but still beat Seattle area resorts, any day! Love how friendly the people... More

Alta is a wonderful, hidden gem! The runs are wide open and range from easy to very difficult. We were blessed to be there on a day when it dumped 15" of fresh powder. It was the best day of skiing EVER!!

This was my first trip to Alta. I have been skiing for over 50 years. The snow conditions were fair, as it had been quite warm during the day and freezing overnight, so the conditions were firm to icy. This is an enormous mountain with terrain to suit every level of skiing. However, the wayfinding signage is quite poor. There... More

Plenty of skiing by all, even intermediate skiers. Well marked to avoid the steeps. Very enjoyable and beautiful views.

We came in after 13" of snow. It was windy and cold but mostly empty (a Monday) and beautiful. Hard to beat the skiing at Alta even though we did mostly Green and Blues b/c the kids and deep snow/

My friends are expert skiers and can ski anywhere. Me, on the other hand, cannot. Snowbird blue runs were a bit challenging for me and getting to the green runs was not fun. Go to Alta. I had a blast skiing on their very long and fun green runs.

I have lived in Utah all my life. Alta has it all. It is cheaper than the others, the powder is better. Snowboarders aren't allowed. It is a great place for summer activities, I live 20 minutes down the canyon and go up the canyon almost daily in the summer
