I learned to ski 40 years ago at Alta. Last February I had a chance to go back and ski there again. It really is just an awesome place to ski. We stayed on the easy lifts, but there was a fair amount of variety...More

Alta Ski resort is a beautiful Ski resort on the Wasatch range. The place has some breathtaking views and is best for Ski. Simply out of the world. This pictures of this place can be easily mistook as Switzerland. Beautiful place.

There are five lodges in Alta, but one is closed this winter for remodeling. The four, in increasing order of luxury (from cozy but basic with some rooms with bath down the hall to full on deluxe): Goldminer’s Daughter, Alta Peruvian, Alta Lodge, and The Ruslter. There are condos too, links from the Alta ski area’s website or google alta chalets. If you have a party of six or eight check out the Black Bear Chalet. None of the condos are exactly ski in ski out in the Snowmass or Vail sense.
