First off props to Alta for being snowboard free. They should get 5 stars for this fact alone. That said there are plenty of other reasons to come here. The runs are more intermediate to advanced which is fine by me. If you are looking...More

Skiing out her for over 30 years.... Less snow out here early January, than conditions since 1976........ but so what....it is still wonderful....... Only gave them a 'very good' because the conditions were a bit less than they most always are......

We skied much of the beginnner, some intermediate and some advanced terrain at Alta. After two storms the skiing improved a great deal. Since our trip was after the Christmas holidays, the mountain was less crowded with lots of room on most of the trails....More

We took our two kids skiing at Alta yesterday (Dec. 28) and they may never want to go skiing in the mountains again. It took over two hours from our arrival until we finally got on a chair lift. The ticket line was 20+ minutes,...More

Highlights: A quick drive from Salt Lake city. Great place to ski and so close to Snowbird. You can get a joint pass for both ski resorts (a bit pricey, but when all or most runs are open, it's worth it). There are 2 nice...More

I love Alta. Some of my best ski days have been at Alta. Can't wait for the next powder day. It's as old school as it gets. And sorry (not sorry) skiers only.

I went there for my first time skiing, and was able to find learn without too much difficulty. They do a great job at getting you on a lift quickly. It's really pretty on a clear day, and in the summer the Cecret trail is...More

Nothing like skiing at Alta. Utah has the best snow. Alta is a great ski resort. I highly recommend!

Alta is skier only (no snowboarding) and also a great summer hiking region. Great nature viewing and easy walks.

Best ski area in the world, regardless of ability. But, you need to go there to ski, not eat at 5* restaurants, or lodge at 5* resorts. I'll take Alta and St. Anton, Austria anytime.

There are five lodges in Alta, but one is closed this winter for remodeling. The four, in increasing order of luxury (from cozy but basic with some rooms with bath down the hall to full on deluxe): Goldminer’s Daughter... More

The Collins and Sugarloaf lifts have safety bars as already noted. The Supreme lift is new and in all likelihood has safety bars. Off of Collins alone there is some of the best skiing in the world. You should have a fabulous... More
