Always enjoy visiting historical sites. Very interesting and with a great gift shop. Only a short drive from Abingdon

White's Mill is an interesting place to spend a little time when in the Abingdon area. Though it is out of the way, it is worth the drive out there. The antique store/gift shop is great.

While staying in Abingdon and looking for some sightseeing activity, our front desk at the hotel recommended we visit White's Mill. We did. A few miles out, but a nice scenic drive. Once there, we found out it was a self-tour. Then we walked over...More

Although the mill only operates on a part-time basis, it is open for browsing. Students from the nearby college are researching and developing the history of the mill and the people who ran it and their customers. That makes it interesting. Across the street there...More

Mill built in the early 1700s still in operation. While the outside of the mill has been restored, the inside definitely has some beams that have seen some history. The machines inside the building are amazing and seem to be in pretty good condition. According...More

Abingdon visitor's guide makes this site look close to town, but it's really 4-5 miles out. The little arrow on the map means a long drive. It's a historic mill with a self guided tour. The water wheel was not running...much less the mill. Looked...More

Not in the best repair, but the store next to it is interesting. It's worth a look if your in the area but I wouldn't make it a special detour.

We fell upon the Mill while out for a drive. While the mill itself might need some restoration..the little gift shop next store is sweet. We purchased a few handmade items and had pleasant conversation with the folks working there.

Great place, but limited staffing. Hope they can keep the doors open as this is a true view in early american history.

Enjoyed the travel through the irginia countryside to this old mill. The inside of the mill was very old and interesting but the exterior renovation spoiled the experience. The accompanying country store really needs cleaning up!
