Founded in 1933, Barter Theatre offers professional, repertory theatre, 17-19 productions per year, and two unique stages: Barter Main Stage and Barter Stage II. No trip to abingdon is complete without seeing the historic Barter Theatre. They do such a good job of preserving the historic beauty, definitely check out the inside gift shop!

It's been a great number many years since I had been here but love the way they have updated it. Very tastefully done with incredible acoustics and an overall terriffic little venue. Will return and often!!!!!

We saw a show at the stage II....love the intimate nature of the theater and enjoyed the talent in the show. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Even though the main theater was closed, we were allowed to go inside and look around....More

We have been to a couple shows at the Barter, and we always have a good time! We love coming to the Barter. You will never be disappointed.

We saw White Christmas on its last day. We had reservations about a play version; how could it compare to Bing? We came away having our spirits lifted and our hearts touched. Excellent regional theatre on all levels.
