Lovely Historic Church

Beautiful church, so rich in history from George Washington, Robert E Lee, Roosevelt and even Churchill. . Should not be missed when visiting Alexandria.

We happened upon Christ Church on a VERY hot afternoon and were pleased to find A/C. A local church member was talking with a small group so we sat in the back and enjoyed the view (and the A/C.) When he was done he invited us and another family to join him in the pew in which Washington sat. He... More

Again, if you want to feel your more in an old town atmosphere, head 2 1/2 hours south to Colonial Williamsburg. This is a nice place to stroll through if you're in the area, but as with nearly all else in Old Town, just not work going out of your way to see/experience

This is a church--built in 1767--that the founding families worshiped in. At the front there are two stones on either side of the alter. One is engraved Washington for George Washington and the other is Lee for Robert E Lee's family. It makes you think about how hard it must have been for Robert E Lee to side with the... More

If you're walking Old Town, this place is a "must." We arrived well after 3 P.M., and the building was closing at 4 P.M. The docent was very gracious and agreed to give us, and another family, a last presentation. She was great! After a short walk around the interior, she sat us down in George Washington's pew and talked... More

This church is gorgeous and it's full of history. We so enjoyed seeing it and sitting down with the wonderful volunteer who gave us the history of the church. She's incredible and I recommend taking the time to have a seat with her in George Washington's pew while you learn about this beautiful church.

This is an old church that George Washington used to attend. They have a guide that goes into great detail on the history of the church. Would recommend to stop in.

The lady giving a brief tour was very informative. See where George Washington And Robert E. Lee sat in church.

It is a very nice church knowing that every American President with the exception of John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama, have been inside this church. The downside was that there was no tour guide to show every thing.

Enjoyed services in this historic Church -- one that honors Virginians George Washington and Confederate General Robert E. Lee. Lovely building.
