This combines a lovely forested walk with a wetlands boardwalk. The wildlife and wildflowers are amazing. It's a hidden, quiet secret in a populated area.

The walkway through the wetlands provides the opportunity to see a good sampling of Virginia's most beautiful wildlife. In a single hour you can see otter, beaver, kingfishers, pileated woodpeckers, Cooper's hawks, deer, ducks, geese, redwing blackbirds, hummingbirds and lots of other wildlife. In the...More

Multiple visits year round. It is one of the best places for bird watching in an area famous for birding. It has forests, swamps, ponds, great paths, clearings, and everything you could walk. Audubon has a group that goes there every week.

This is a beautiful park with a couple miles of walking trails. The best feature for me was the extensive raised walkway over the wetlands. You can spot dozens of birds, smaller mammals, insects, turtles, fish. It's really a hidden gem.

Great place to escape the crowded and congested route 1 corridor. One of the few remaining open green spaces left in Northern Virginia. Great place to watch birds, walk your dog, or simply enjoy nature without the crowds and noise.

Birds, creatures is the water, beaver, beaver dams. Something new to find any time of year, any time of day. This island of nature in a sea of development is a quiet treasure and a spot that will feed your soul.
