This is a very nice Kimpton property in Old Town Alexandria. Has all the amenities plus a full spa. And, two fabulous restaurants, Brabo and the Tasting Room. You can't go wrong staying here for business, pleasure or staycation. Also, close to King Street metro stop, so two stops from DCA. And 15 minutes to DC museums.

As I walked into the peaceful courtyard off King Street, this place seemed right. I was right. It's a boutique hotel in true sense. Clean, stylish, friendly and welcoming. Complementary wine and pizza every night is added value. Rooms on the small side but very well furnished. Great service. Will be back! I love this place.

We liked the hotel for the friendly helpful service we received there. There are two restaurants on each side of the hotel; one for breakfast and lunch (light menu) and high end dinning with bar for evening. The location depends on what you want to do. Next to the Metro at end of King Street. You can walk (1 mile)... More

We stayed at the Lorien for 5 nights in September. We were greeted by a very friendly, welcoming valet so it started out well. The desk clerk was not so welcoming nor was he very informative. We splurged on a suite with a balcony and seemed very nice upon our arrival. Then I saw the bathroom! The frosted glass sliding... More

Visiting Alexandria for business and stayed at the Lorien Spa Hotel. It is a Kimpton property which I look for in my travels. My room was on a corner and it had a nice view of Old Town. Very comfortable bed and met my expectations of a Kimpton property which include nice wine bar in the evening, comfortable bathrobes, coffee... More

I've been here multiple times and have always been greatly surprised. I used to stay at the Morrison house because it was quaint, but realized that the Lorien was within our budget. I started staying here and everything was phenomenal. Every time I've been here I've been getting the suite and the rooms are nice with a HUGE bathroom. Basically... More

My favorite hotel near the King St. Metro, the only con is the price. Thankfully I'm able to travel on business and the company I work with has an agreed price. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice courtyard, sitting room and lobby. Brabo and Brabo tasting room on site are also great from... More

What a great place. Staff was beyond helpful, informative and knowledgeable. Was there on business in July, and was more than I expected. Location was outstanding, right on historic King Street. Just a couple of blocks from the metro station. Was able to walk safely throughout the neighborhood. Metro took us everywhere we wanted to go. Loved the breakfast served... More

My friend and I treated ourselves to a massage and facial, which was a bit expensive but not in relation to other area spas. We came with high hopes, which they exceeded. You walk in and the pampering begins. You are given a locker and a plush robe. Then, you wait in the most soothing room sipping delicious herbal tea... More

I had a manicure/pedicure by the Lorien Spa about 6 months ago. It was pretty good, but a little challenging to schedule. So difficult, I was beginning to think this place was biased against men. Someone had given me a gift card and I wanted to use it. When I finally got it scheduled, the manicure/pedicure was nothing to rave... More
