The Lyceum houses a three room museum tracing Alexandria's history from colonial times through the 20th Century. There's a $2 suggested donation but they waved me through rather than take a credit card. The exhibits are heavier on the reading than on the artifacts. There's...More

We spent about an hour and a half here learning about Alexandria's history. The exhibits are well done. We walked over from the Indigo Hotel, but there is free parking.Admission was $2.00 a person. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice museum on the first floor and has parking on the side. Covers Alexandria's history well and is well maintained. It is a free museum, but has a donation box.

Nicely presented displays on the history of Alexandria. A recently installed series of displays focuses on World War I. A donation of $2 per person is requested and is well worth it.

It is a very small place, but it is worth seeing as it tells the complete story of Alexandria. It has its own parking.

Nice museum with photo's about the history of Alexandria. There is a great Mercy Street exhibition, but I'm not sure if it is permanent.

Very small museum, free although they suggest a $2 donation. Relatively few real historical items. Did enjoy seeing the actual costumes worn by the PBS actors in "Mercy Street". Mercy Street was a PBS production about residents of Alexandria during the civil war. Interesting signage...More
