We stopped in to get a map of the area. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The restrooms were nice and clean. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the porch for a few minutes while we discussed what to do next.

Talked with them prior to arrival. They suggested to stop first so they could help us. Did buy the Key to the city which gave us admission to many homes open to public and museums in town.

If you're looking to get to DC from Old Town Alexandria, just head up King St from the river (walk west), and about a mile away is both a metro stop and an Amtrak stop.
