Unique design for this memorial. Looks like a field of wings rising out of the ground. Wings pointing toward the pentagon memorialized those that died in the building, the others pointing toward the sky died in the plane. Very peaceful place worth the visit.

The Memorial was uncrowded after the annual ceremony; wreaths were on display and facilities for the annual ceremony were being dismantled. The Memorial is an easy walk from the Pentagon Metro station and is thoughtfully designed, worth the time for contemplation.

The Pentagon Memorial that honors those who died on Sept 11th at that site is a place everyone should visit. It is well designed, tells the story of that sad day with reverence. Getting there can be tricky, so check on where to park (by...More

While it's a bit off the beaten path and hard to find parking nearby, this tribute to those who lost their lives in the plane and on the ground at the Pentagon is a spot for contemplation and appreciation.

We had no idea there was a memorial on the grounds. We were really glad we saw it. They really thought this out and the symbolism attached to it was amazing. There is very little shade and it's a walk from the pentagon, so prepare.

My trip to the Pentagon Memorial was very sobering, I was in stationed in Japan and remember watching 9-11 unfold on TV. I will always remember where I was on that day, will you?

The place is pretty and well taken care of. It's a nice place to go to if you have your way around the area. It was quite hard to find our way there (we walked past it). It's not that touristy. But a nice place...More

We decided to go to the Pentagon Memorial after dinner while visiting Washington D.C. We took the Metro and got off at the Pentagon exit. It was about a 6-7 block walk around the south side of the Pentagon. The Memorial is very dramatic, showing...More

This memorial is simple in design but encompassing many elements leading to a tragic event. Every person is honored. It is very touching . It is very accesible by metro, has free parking and is free!

Yes, but it's not well-marked. There is a sidewalk from behind the Cemetery's service complex (southeast corner of the Cemetery) that goes along Columbia Pike and then under Washington Blvd into the entrance area for the... More

It is open when the lights are on. It might even be open 24 hours. There is a Metro stop nearby but there is also public parking.

If you go after 6:00, you can probably park in the lot at the tunnel entrance.
