During our stay at Kusatsu, our hotel does have its own onsen.
However, this is an experience not to be missed.
They have Awaseyu, and outdoor onsen.
The indoor wooden onsen- awaseyu has different water temperature.

Located about 5 minutes walk from Yubatake, offering two indoor onsen and an outdoor onsen with 2 pools. One of the indoor onsen has 6 pools in different temperatures. Quite challenging and good fun. We were very glad with our choices.
Otakino-yu is another popular onsen near the town center known for its indoor area with five small pools of increasing temperature that you are supposed to gradually move through with the hottest one at an unbearable 48 degrees.

The best part of it is the 1st floor wooden bath where temperature gradually goes up, 38-42-44-45-46 degrees (Centigrade). The bath shifts (men/women) so check the schedule. A great experience, not to be missed!
This spa is large, very clean, and loved by local and tourist. The quality of Onsen is excellent since the spa locates quite near the spring. An outside bath is super nice, especially snow season! Around the bath, many things are covered by snow. It...More
