Came here to see hydrangeas in June but the hydrangea path, or "Ajisai Sando" [あじさい参道], is under construction until 2017 sometime. The temple itself is nice but very small, just a few minutes from Enoden [江ノ島電鉄]'s Gokurakuji Station [極楽寺] which is next to a slightly bigger temple with the same name - not a whole of hydrangeas there either. That's why you are in japan, right? Ok, also some exhibitions, food and shopping, but somehow i felt this is the real face of the country.

Jojuin Temple is 5 minutes walk from Gokurakuji station. It takes around 1hours 17min or so from Tokyo station to reach Gokurakuji station.
