The monorail station is very close to the main Ofuna station. Main destinations are the beautiful town of Kamakura and the seaside resort of Enoshima, which is the final stop. Single fare is 310yen. Try to find a space at the front of the first coach which provides the best and most exciting view, as the train twists and turns... More

This a an excellent way to try out a cool monorail on the way to see the Great Buddha. Take the JR to Ofuna, where you can pick up the Shonan Monorail at its start. The 14 minute ride includes multiple stops and even a tunnel. If you get on the first car you can take a video through the... More

The train service is like a amusement park ride. It represents Japanese technological advancement. Cheap but fantastic options for tourist. You should be in the same carriage where the driver sits, if you are a first timer to see the surprising out view

It took a while to negotiate trains but once we had we found them easy to access, regular and on time.

湘南モノレール!上から釣られるスタイルでまるで遊園地にいるみたいです。江ノ電とともに乗り放題のパスも有ります。 Japanese public transportations are great, except crazy crowded morning trains in Tokyo. Enodens are super cute to explore Kamakura Enoshima area, but this monorail you will feel like you are in Disney Land. 1day pass which you can use both monorail and Enoden is must have!

Never been on a monorail before, this was a great experience. We flew over lines of cars and over red lights. Every town should have ome.

On the Narita Express, I had seen these strange-looking overhead tracks several times when passing through Chiba, so it was quite the revelation to see the same structures being used to support the monorail car I was riding in from Ofuna to Enoshima. Not exactly a smooth ride, like the monorail trains at the Tokyo Disney Resort, but it was... More

This is really good fun, as well as getting you from A to B. The views and the overall experience are worth going out of your way. I took this way back from Enoshima to Kamakura. Note you can't use your Suica pass, you have to buy a separate ticket, but it is good value.

We rode the monorail so our granddaughter could enjoy the experience but I was impressed by the views. It is well worth going.

The Shonan Monorail runs from Ofuna Station to Enoshima. It is a 14 minute trip that takes you up and over a hill with a great view of Ofuna and the ocean side. It is a fun choice, especially if you have kids. It can feel like a roller coaster at times if you get a seat at the front... More
