I hope this refers to the Japanese Garden adjacent to Kokura Castle and available to visit on a combined ticket. Lovely traditional Japanese Garden but not at best in March. The traditional Japanese House that is in the garden is a gem and there is a very good exhibition area as well.

Kokura Castle garden is a short distance from the castle. The garden includes a Samurai Mansion that was an Annex to the castle. It is worth a visit and takes about half an hour to view. Admission is 300 yen. It is also incorporated into the special 700 yen ticket which includes Kokura Castle and Matsumoto Seicho memorial Museum.

日本を感じる綺麗な庭園です。茶室、展示会などもやってます。礼法、作法について勉強できる施設もあります。是非おすすめです。
It's a Cultural facility which was restored from the recreational villa of Daimyo Ogasawara to a feudal garden and a shoin of Edo period and has now transformed into a complex with tearooms and exhibition halls.

As Japanese gardens go, this one is such a disappointment. It is very small, its only notable feature is the pond, and it is sadly uncared for. They have a nerve to charge for admission when they do so little upkeep. There is however a pleasant tea house which overlooks the pond.

Everywhere I went in Japan the attention to detail was amazing but the walk ways here were hands down my favorite. The things to see and take pictures of are within steps of each other. Loved every minute of the garden.

I don't know how to measure this garden against all the beautiful gardens we have seen. Small, peaceful, with a nice view of the castle. Restful, but cannot compare with the larger more glamorous gardens.

We spent an hour wandering the gorgeous gardens, feeding the fish and relaxing in the cool.
A lovely place to visit to see the ornamental gardens... it really is nice. Enjoy a tea and relax

It is a get away place, just to stop time and relax while seeing scenery and peeking to the castle right next to it. There is an small museum and a tea ceremony (reservation needed) that you can visit. Nice place!

As we buy a set of tickets included Matsumoto Seicho Memorial Museum, Castle and this park, so get inside. It is small with a small museum and a library, someone take wedding photos there.

We visited the Kokura Garden in the winter and it was fine. It's not very big, but you can get a nice view of the outside of Kokura castle. Admission also included a visit to the Samurai-style mansion constructed in the Shoin style. There was a Japanese-speaking guide at the mansion. Fortunately, we were with Japanese friends who translated for us. It was interesting to know how the 'veranda' is enclosed during foul weather or at nighttime using the clever removable 'shutters'. There was also a small museum in the garden complex. Again, we gained interesting information because we were with our Japanese hosts.
