- Linda G37 contributionsA Wonderful Surprise in ShkoderVenice Art Mask Factory is a half-hour walk from the city center, and well worth the trip. We saw the showroom first and were blown away. After taking in the showroom, we saw the factory. It is a light-filled building with two rows of long tables where the masks move from table to table as they become masterpieces. We were shown around by Tony, who explained the mask-making process in detail and answered all our questions. Don’t miss the Venice Art Mask Factory when you visit Shkoder.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten October 17, 2023
- Guna ZLigatne, Latvia11 contributionsDon’t miss when around! So happy that we didn’t miss this absolutely inspiring experience. Very interesting to see the factory and show room with beautiful masks. Use this opportunity to buy masks! During working days till 15.00/15.30 there is an opportunity to do the workshop and paint your own mask with help from professionals (time depending on your creativity and cost around 30 eur) Our family just loved it and kods called it- the factory of joy!Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten March 31, 2024
- Traveller162014Leeds, United Kingdom1,653 contributionsWorth a visitThere were lots and lots of masks to be seen here. We walked around 25 minutes from the centre of Shkoder to come and admire all these masks. There were some very quirky and interesting ones. We left with nothing, deciding not to buy any because we aren't really all that into masks. Not really. I think they were quite expensive. But definitely worth a visit.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten March 31, 2024

I suggest taking the tour as it gives you a better perspective while visiting the show room. Mask are for sale. They do ship if you can't carry it on the plane. I was at the facility by my self and Tony gave me a great tour and explained the process very thoroughly. I walked to the factory and it took approximately 45 minutes from downtown.Visited April 2024Travelled soloWritten April 7, 2024

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely young lady who offered to show us around and keep us topped with information. From the moment we entered, just wow. Venetian papier-mâché masks adorn the walls and shelves; so beautifully made, so colourful. There’s lots to see, masks that you’ll remember from movies, jewellery pieces that are elegant and fabulous too. Brooches, fridge magnets, bottle stoppers- they truly have thought of all kinds of masks here. And there’s one for all budgets.
Euro’s or LEK’s preferred - they also accept card.
Great find. Great place

A fascinating place just out of Shkoder city. It is an outlet for a very successful souvenirs, masks and other Venetian art miniatures factory. Most of the products are sold in Venice while this is the only outlet in home Albania. The visit is worth it, even if most products are not cheap but they are really pieces of handmade art. At least you do not have to pay to enjoy the stroll

Delightful! The colors are a sensation to your eyes & the obvious artistic skill is amazing. Ask for a tour of the Artistes at work. This was the highlight of our stay in Shkoder. Of course part of the joy for us was when we got to dance in the lobby to our guide playing the piano!!!!

Amazing masks there. I love the one I bought there when I went on holidays to Albania. Great selection of lovely hand-made Venetian masks. And they care so much about the quality of their work that if the mask has a bit of damage from being on display, they won’t sell it to you. They will only sell it if it’s in perfect conditions. That’s how much they care.

Hi, Idit. What would you like to know about this attraction?
Do we need to call the factory in advance and set up a time for a visit?
Written August 19, 2017
We just dropped in and they were open. Don't know if it's better to call.

I love the unicorn mask and am an avid collector. I would like to know what It would cost in US dollars and what it would cost to ship it to KENTUCKY USA. Thanks very much for your help. Tonya Skelton

What are the summer opening times? (Closed by 3pm in the winter, I notice.)
Written January 30, 2016
I don't think there is any change because it's a factory and people continue working the same hours, winter or summer. In any case, if you're planning your schedulle in advance, it would be a good idea to call the owner first: +(355)682047291 and try to coordinate your visit while he's there!
Enjoy!
