Definitely worth a visit to learn about the nautical history of Salvador, the slave trade and the port. The entrance fees are reasonable. The bonus is great views of the beach and parts of the city, especially from top of lighthouse. Nice cafe to have...More

Renovated and well preserved, Farol da Barra is quite interesting with a museum and a store. The beach has blue water that can be seen from the top of the Farol. Energizing scene where the sun is hot for most of the year. Tourists should...More

One of the best areas of the city: great ocean view, great places to eat, drink and have fun. And the beach is gorgeous. Just go behind the "Farol da Barra" and appreciate the sunset and the Itaparica island view. It is priceless.

The lighthouse is architecturally interesting if you are from the u.s. as it is not like lighthouses in Michigan anyway. This lighthouse is more like a fortress. The beach adjacent is very good and safe. We ate at a restaurant near the lighthouse which was...More

This is definitely one of the better things to do in Salvador. You can tour the entire lighthouse and climb all the way to the top. Entrance is R$15 per person. It gives you a history of the Portugese coming to Brazil. There is a...More
