Exuberant, energetic, polished, pulsing and haunting performances. Large cast, great percussion, visually stimulated costumes and non-stop, never slow down choreography. A very hard working and talented group which has performed all over the world. Saw them and enjoyed them at GPAC in Germantown TN, a...More

This show is a must see if you are staying in Salvador. The show is just over an hour long and is non stop high energy dancing. The dancers are totally into it and obviously love the program. I have seen many folkloric ballets across...More

The Bale Folclorico was part of our tour and we were very happy it was included. The show lasts less than one hour in a very small theater. The seats are just benches and not that comfortable but since the show is short its not...More

We went to this 1 hour show pre-dinner. I'd seen a similar show at the Edinburgh Festival. Vibrant and energetic dances and finished off with martial arts. well worth an hour of your time. it costs 50 reals.

The show is great... the buffet could be a bit more sophisticated. The price is worth it for the show only.

This show was excellent in terms of the quality and athleticism of the dancers, the choreography and the costumes. Our guide called it a "Red Bull" show and that it was. There was so much energy and skill in the stage as the dancers depicted...More

Compact show with the most interesting presentations of Bahia culture. From popular dances to Orixas presentation (divinities from Candomble) with glimpses of other rhythms that made the state known for its singularity. It is a "must go" show !!!

One evening during our Baihian vacation, we enjoyed a phenomenal show at the Bale Folclorico. The show takes you on a historical journey through Afro-Brazilian culture through dance. Very reminiscent of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Troupe. There are no obstructed views in the small...More

It's in a small theater with a performing troupe of about 4 drummers, two singers, and 10 or 12 dancers. The hour-long show covers candomble ritual, capoeira (the local dance/fight), drumming, music, and singing. It differs from many such shows in that the performers are...More

The theater itself is underwhelming with slightly uncomfortable seating, but you get over that pretty fast. The first scene is probably a little too long and made me nervous that I was watching a talent show / community theater performance. Every scene after that was...More

Hi Martha, I went to the site and it says there are shows every night at 8pm. Did you buy tickets in advance? Did you get a taxi after the show, was that easy to do? Do you think there would be a best night to see this show? Thanks, Judi

Hi Judi. You don't need to buy tickets in advance, unless you're around and want to buy them just to be safe. It's easy to get a taxi after the show. You only need to walk back to Terreiro de Jesus, Pelourinho's main... More
