This 1624 fortress has a twin sister in Sardina island, Italy. Same shape, same defense concept, dancing in the water with great sunset views and short boat trips. A very romantic thing to do: I missed the restaurant they used to have in the fort for a moonlight dinner!
Boat trips need to be pre-arranged, but it's worthwhile!

It is located about 300 meters from the coast, in the Bay of Todos los Santos. We could see it perfectly from our cruise ship when we arrived in the city, but in the upper part you also have good views. It has a cylindrical shape and its construction began in 1608 to be used as a defense, but the Dutch managed to occupy it and use it as a base in 1624. I do not know if it is open to the public to visit.

We took the complete Cassi tourism tour with the guide Joel and it was wonderful, super informative about the history of Bahia, in fact a history lesson. I am really delighted with all the kindness and politeness in serving Guide Joel's passenger. Cassi tourism is to be congratulated with a guide like this
