To begin with, you’re not visiting the lagoon, which is pretty and mostly wild landscape, but a resort where you pay an entrance fee of around $7 after queuing for a few minutes under scalding sun. The place has a VIP area (another $20) from where a DJ blasts disco music to the whole area, which combined with the cacophony of shouts and splashes make the experience unbearable. There are hammocks on the water, which are used by instagramers to pose for pictures. Even though it is a closed space, expect to be bothered by street vendors several times, offering from swim wear to sea shells. Drinks and food are exorbitantly expensive (like 3x the price elsewhere).

We planned to stay over night in Paraiso and take a ride to Jeri next day. But if you like good vibes, more vivid night life, I would recommend to go to Jeri straight away. You can find those transfer service people on arrival to Jijoca, transfer cost 30 reals for a place in pick up van, or 180 reals for the private car. Parking your own vehicle cost us 15 reals per night

If you're in Jeri, Prea or Tatajuba and you're fed up with downwind trips or wind 25+ kts. and want to spend a relaxing day - with some kitesurfing - Lagoa Paraiso might be a good choice.

The Lagoa Paraiso is about a 30 min buggy ride from Jeri, offers clean sweet water (so you won't get a season pass for your bathroom if you swallow a bit of that water), some very nice places to spend the day and less wind than in Jeri, but also a bit gusty.

The place I'd recommend would be Alchemyst Beach at the very top of the Lagoa: really nice environment with good service, a bit more expensive than other places but quality always had its price and wind being more steady/ less gusty than in the lower parts of the Lagoa. To have a nice day kitesurfing, bring kites at least one size bigger than you use in Jeri or Prea.

If you want the Lagoa all for yourself, then go there weekdays. On weekends though, you'll see a lot of Brazilians having a good time all around the Lagoa.

One more thing: if you're going to the Lagoa because you're going to Jijoca because you need an ATM for cash: don't go there on Sat-Mon as Banco do Brasil will then probably be out of cash as Brazlian weekend travels are quite intense.

We went two days to Jericoacoara, we booked the tour at Fortaleza, and the tour included the three tours available at Jeri, Pedra Furada, Arvore da Preguica and Lahoa do Paraiso. You can do the tour in one day only but it's not worth it. After being in Jeri beach Lagoa do Paraiso was disappointing, colder water, only a small beach with a Restaurante....I'm not saying you to not go there but don't expect the paradise beach in the photos...the restaurant is expensive, so be careful.

Not only is it overpriced (R$20 per person without any foods or drinks, which are also expensive and badly served) but the service there was also very disappointing, the drinks were awful, we ordered them twice and they still didn't fix them. Once we cancelled the order, our waiter walked alway pointing and cursing at us. Very impolite and unprofessional.
Still, we ordered some food, however it wasn't any better. Small portions, bad taste, it was cold and once again, extremely expensive.
Would not recommend for anyone.
There are better options to visit Lagoa do Paraíso.

I think I was expecting some desert oasis in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but a few hammocks in the water. Turns out, the hammocks are owned by resorts which line the shores of this rather large lagoon, so it's not as if you're in the middle of nowhere. Still, a stunning locale. Very relaxing. And since there were resorts, they had food&drink! Apparently there is a more isolated section of the lagoon, but the pickup truck just let us out in the busier section.

The drought has taken much of this lake, but still has some fresh and clean water. It will be more worth visiting if water rises after a good raining season. If you like stand up paddle you'll enjoy it more. that wasn't my case.

As this place always came up when I googled Jeri I thought it was in town, it's not. There are various ways to get there however, and it is definitely worth it.

As a lone backpacker, I chose the cheapest option of getting one of the trucks from the main street. It costs 10 BRL (£2.70) each way (they can also take you to Jijoca). Get on one of the trucks that already have a few passengers in as they leave when they are full. It's also a good idea to agree a time that the truck will pick you up for the return.
Otherwise, if I remember correctly, it was 50 BRL pp for a dune buggy there and back, 100 to be driven there on a quadbike or 200 if you wanted to do one of the longer tours which included stops at other sites such as the Lagoa Azul.

The water at Lagoa do Paraiso is warm, clean and has enough shallow areas for children. There are also the hammocks in the water to relax in! The sand is much nicer than at the beach in Jeri.

I didn't eat at the beach house myself as I had read it was quite expensive, so brought a packed lunch. There are sun loungers and tables and the beach house has toilets and changing facilities.

I spent some hours on this place and it's absolutely unique and amazing. When you think about the movie "Blue lagoon" you can feel to be in the place.
