When visiting Appleton my travel companion and I decided to visit the university - in part prompted by the good reviews. We visited and thoroughly enjoyed the morning simply leisurely walking around the grounds. Overall this university is well worth a visit with a number of impressive buildings and places to take photos of the surrounding area including the Paper... More

Whether you are on the college tour circuit or just visiting Appleton on business or pleasure (I've been to the city for both reasons), Lawrence University is a must stop. One of America's great liberal arts colleges, the campus is beautiful with plenty of great architecture old and new, plus lots of public art.

Lawrence University is a wonderful small liberal arts college. They also have a conservatory of music where students earn a bachelor's degree in music, music performance, etc. The college offers many lectures and performances that are open to the public, and many events are free.

Beautiful campus. We just looked around and didn't actually go in any of the buildings because it was 4th of July weekend and nothing seemed to be open. We really enjoyed the well manicured campus and the gorgeous architecture.

They didn't have food like this when I went to Lawrence! Outstanding quality and variety for the students to dine but also open to the community. Beautiful view of the fox river right out of the large windows. Tasteful modern decorations, a great college restaurant choice.

We visited the University on official tour over the weekend. We are academics and through our careers and childrens' college placements been to dozens of world class colleges and universities. I think Lawrence University can compete with ANY great liberal arts college. Great facilities. Smart, helpful students. Thoughtful, invested, faculty. Superior college town. These are all of the key ingredients... More

I'm surprised I've never seen this idyllic place in a movie. The campus is small, only about 1400 students, but they are all very welcoming, intelligent and motivated. It's like Lake Wobegone for students - all above average. There is a beautiful student union with excellent food. Some of the townsfolk even come in to eat here. The chapel and... More

Have you ever gone to a concert hall that was so perfect that the sound and ambience pulled you into the music as though you were living within it? That is the experience the audience receives every time it listens to the Appleton Boys Choir, White Heron Chorale, or Lawrence University Symphany. Look for the announcements of recitals and concerts... More
