Outdoor zoo park plus small exhibits

Lovely collection of animals outdoors right in the middle of bustling Belem. I also liked the indigenous exhibits in the hall.

There's lots to see and do here. Perfect for bringing kids or elders, ideal for taking a break from urban touring.

This is a huge park in the middle of the city, it is like a piece of a forest! They have a museum that is quite ok, and birds, monkeys roaming free in the park. There are aslo a couple of animals been kept in cages that seem to small, with the size and space available the could expand it.... More

I was very surprised to find something like this in a rushing city like Belem. The visit was very relaxing and cold. Nice example of paranese nature and animals. Id definitelly come with kids. Beware of closing hours they close around 17-18 every day.

Don't miss it. It is a very nice place to visit. It is not the best park I know, it is not best zoo I know, and it is not the best museum I know. Still I found it so so so charming. Get there early - door opens at 9:00 AM - pay a very small fee, then help... More

The "Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi" has always been a deeply respected research institution in Brazil. Although neglected in the late years, it is still a must see while visiting Belém! A nice opportunity to look closely the Amazon forest, its animals and plants at the very heart of Belém. Entry fees are almost inexpensive and children will certainly enjoy watching... More

This museum it's more like a "zoo" but not actually a zoo. It's cheap, just R$2,00 and it's awesome for kids. They have animals to see, like monkeys and Amazon birds. It's good to see a lit bit of the fauna of the region

The place it is still worthy to visit, though it has been negleted by local authorities in its conservation and to finalize decade old places that were "temporarily" closed like the aquarium, closed for 10 years or more. It used to host a magnificent collection of indian artefacts but nowhere to be seen now. Having said that I rated 4... More

We very much enjoyed walking through the beautiful gardens and viewing the many animals (some in cages and so not). Nice and cool under the trees. Good for all ages. Within walking distance of the Basilica, which is also worth a visit. Also interesting (and safer) part of town than the center.
