Beware of cheating! They are abusing tourists, making them pay cash by promising a service they do not perform. We paid 120 reais to on a boat and dive among the fish, including underwater photos that were not delivered. According to the "agent" named Daniel that appears in the photo on the left, they were going to send us those images in about 48 hours, they only sent us a couple of images, but none of them were made in the water with the fish. After consulting through WhatsApp several times he simply blocked us! I tricked him with an another 2 phone numbers. When he realized it was us he blocked us again. With the 3th number he simply said that those pictures were no longer on their system. I strongly recommend not to listen to these people on the beach. We thought they already had enough hard times with pandemic so paying 120 was more then normal and we stepped into a trap. Go with the established companies those you can track and check if they are giving a good service at a correct price. We have our lessons learned and a pity we did not get the pictures that we so much wanted.

I have been traveling to Porto de Galinhas every year for 14 years. I'm (was) the biggest fan of the place but in the last 3 it's been getting worse and worse. Unfortunately I won't be returning. It appears that the village was abandoned by the city hall. In some restaurants you cannot eat due to the strong smell of urine that rises through the sewers. The town is full of "public street owners": you park your car and soon the street owner comes along saying: "ma'am, to park here it's 10.00". As I know the place and refused to pay, I still had to talk to the being of light. Not to mention overcrowding. If in the middle of March you can no longer walk without bumping into people, I don't even want to imagine what it's like in January. To top it off, another year I was stopped by the highway guard and I had proof that I had renewed my driver's license and was waiting for the document to arrive. He said that that statement was only valid in my state. I argued that this document was valid throughout the country, he said he wouldn't fine me and some time later I received a fine notification from the rental company. So as not to be inconvenienced, I paid. But they don't even see the buggy drivers who ride with the piled-up tourists. I mean, they think tourists are 🤡
Anyway, from now on I will only stay in Tamandaré (Praia dos Carneiros) which at least for now is still what Porto de Galinhas used to be: a pleasant place to rest!

Beautiful beach with natural pools where you can see fish, a sure guarantee for a day of leisure. However, be careful with street vendors, especially Barraca do BastiĂŁo, which charges R$90 for the use of umbrellas and chairs, and does not warn you in advance of the "day use" cost, even with consumption on site. Furthermore, I did not observe any lifeguard points along the beach.

Beautiful but neglected beach. Lots of rubbish on the sand and in the sea. When the tide comes in the water is disgusting with so much rubbish. Tents with abusive prices due to being in season. To use the tent structure you have to consume dishes (very bad ones, in fact) for at least 130 reais. Everything super expensive. Many spots reek of urine. Feces floating in some spots.
They charge a lot for the raft ride and take you to already full pools and destroyed corals. Not even the photos are any good, due to so much human movement turning over the water/sand. It's not worth paying for a raft, take your snorkel 🤿 and walk. Be careful with tour vendors, they practically rob you.
The only good thing was the service from DAVI at the strawberry do Nordeste drinks stand. Nice boy! The prices are steep, but with the good service, you can swallow it lol

I didn't have a good experience at this beach.
Everything is very expensive, day use is absurd, there is a stall that charges 80.00 reais for day use and that includes the consummation. You can't take a walk in peace on the beach without someone interrupting you and offering you something.
The food dishes are absurdly expensive.
And in the center there is also a lot of harassment for tourists.
Note. I know that tourist places are normally more expensive, but what happens in Porto de Galinhas is unusual.

A trip to the pools is kind of mandatory for anyone going to Porto de Galinhas. We paid 53 reais in September/2023 per person to go by raft to the right place. The price is fixed, and tickets are purchased at the jangadeiros association window, which is located on the beach. Check the tide table before going. The ideal is to go close to the lowest tide of the day. Wear flip-flops or sneakers to avoid hurting your feet on the corals or urchins.

If you choose to go to Porto de Galinhas for the part where the tours to the natural pools are, prepare your pocket. Meals from 150.00 if you sit in the tents. Or pay 80.00 just for the umbrella. Street vendors (corn, churros, drinks) are all expensive too.

Having done the natural pools at Milagres (Patacho and Lages) and Maragogi (Gales and Bento) last year, we were not impressed by the ones at Porto.
I'd highly advise to be ready by the beach at least one hr before the minimum tide of the day (ideal for visiting 0.0 up to 0.4 mts) so you can get a free wristband to enter the pools for free. One thing I did appreciate was the guidance and special care of the people working there to avoid further deterioration of the natural resource.
The whole thing last about 1:30 hs as you wait and are the line is divided into four groups of about 50 people each. If you do the jangada from the shoreline (about 50 reais per person) there is no limit of people.
You visit three pools in total: the small and very first one with the Brazil shape, the second bigger full of fish for pics only and the third where you can swim.
Do not forget your gaggles for snorkeling and waterproof shoes (for waking in the rocky coral)

A lot of marketing for little delivery, the catamaran service to the pools costs R$ 110.00, you have to go very early, on the route they talk about additional scuba diving, snorkel rentals for R$ 20.00 (worth it) and additional of pictures.
The photos are worth around 20 photos, R$ 50.00 in pix cash and card, everything has an additional fee.
On the boat they warn that you cannot feed the animals, but when you get there the photographer himself throws food for the fish to get closer.
When it comes to renting a snorkel, they don't explain how to use it, nor do they provide any guidance.
The natural pools are beautiful, but there are too many people and you can't get a good one. The pool is very shallow and is far from being a swimming pool. Corals are not colorful. So don't expect to see much.

I gave it 5 stars because of the beach (nature) and safety. You can leave your belongings and no one touches them.
However, I give zero for beach structure and respect for tourists. If you are coming to rest and distract your mind, know that you won't be able to do it here. Harassment is very high, from vendors, in the center and on the beach. Many don't take "no" for an answer and continue following you and making your walk unpleasant, because in the center you can't see the shops and on the beach you can't talk to your wife while contemplating the nature.
I got to the point of avoiding leaving the inn, as this happens all the time. What an unpleasant experience.

Olá! Qual o horário de funcionamento das jangadas?
Vi que agora dia de Natal a marĂ© estará 0.5 Ă s 7h30. Já teriam pessoas disponĂveis antes disso?
Written December 22, 2020
