Our ride for the "paradise islands" tour stopped there for about 40 minutes. The islands are basically rock formations with no shore, so we were only allowed to get out to swim and snorkel. The current is quite strong and deceiving, making swimming harder, but there's still a lot of marine life to see. Good place for a first-time freediver like myself, but with the misfortune of going around on a schedule due to the boat ride.

The attraction is available on the schooner tour. I took the tour that has four stops, with Ilhas Botinas being the third stop. The schooner stops and you can get off to take a shower. The vessel offers pasta/spaghetti to help with buoyancy. While we were standing still, a penguin appeared at the scene.

You can visit these two small islands taking one of the many cruises available, or you can rent a boat for your group (it goes for about $US 40/hour). In any case bring your snorkeling equipement (the boats rent for you if you don't have one). Great snorkeling waters.

This pace is in the middle of the ocean and has millions of fishes. You can see many types of fishes and ocean life just using your snorkeling gear. The water is very shalow and the ocean was pretty calm while we were there, so it is really cool even for beginners to explore it. Strongly recommended stop for your boat trip while in Angra dos Reis bay.

Clear whater, lots of litle tame fishes, and some bigger ones, some white sand shalow bottom, lots of rocks. Execelent snorkeling and diving. Can often see, sting rays, turtles, angel fish etc.

Beyond the fishes, we saw even turtles and ray in snorkelling. It was very peaceful, as we were there during the week, we avoided the crowd that probably is bigger during weekends

Took a boat trip from Ilha Grande to see the paradisical islands nearby and this place was for sure the best! A place to be!
The water there was amazingly clear & blue. We went snorkelling and it was amazing to have countless of colorful fish swimming around me - I had never experienced something like this before, truly beautiful!

Sensational place to snorkel and see the fish. Dives can be with professional equipment or just snorkeling for amateurs. The waters are calm, clear and super warm. The islands are really a paradise!

Easily one of the most beautiful and stunning things I've done in my life. It can get a little crowded but if you swim a little bit you can get awesome pictures without anyone else on them, and get the complete experience.

We visited this island during our stay in Angra. We had a boat trip and snorked around the island about a hour. Attention, there is no beach there.
