Went there in a private boat and had thr best snorkeling around Ilha Grande. Can only get there by boat as it is just off the island a bit next to smaller island. Worth the excursion.

We visited Lagoa Verde during our 5-day hike around the island and really enjoyed this place, it was very nice to swim in its clear warm water and snorkel with fish after long day of walking. We arrived at Lagoa Verde from Bananal around 4pm on Monday and there was none there, no boats or other tourists. It can be very crowded on weekends mornings and afternoons but most boats leave around 4pm so if you go there after you'll get all Lago for yourself. The water is clear and warm, it's very shellow, we san a lot of fish around big stones in the water, evern two barracudas.
PS. You can find more info on the island, hike, routes, distances, prices and photos of many beaches by googling "Stingy Nomads Ilha Grande trekking in the paradise".

Less popular than Lagoa Azul, however nicer and less crowded. We've been there and at surrounding beaches with Renan a very good boat owner

I loved Ilha Grande but there are limited choices for diving (mergulho in portugese).
The 2 companies were Elite and Dive Cea both with shops a short walk from the main pier.
Both companies quoted 250 Reales for 2 dives. I chose Elite as they had a powerboat which I thought would mean time for a snorkel in between dives. They also provided drinks n snacks.
The divemaster we were going with did not do the briefing. It was done by the captain in less than a minute with a quick map of how we would dive through a wreck. Maybe he had better English than our divemaster.
We did the first dive which was an impressive wreck, got out of water and after a very short boat trip were told to get in the water again. I didn't have a dive watch n we were told it was not a deep dive but I was concerned about the lack of briefing or information.
Second dive we saw a turtle n a seahorse. There were some fish later identified as fake flyers as when they felt scared or threatened these plain sandy coloured fish splayed their fins so they had vibrant purple wings. Amazing!
We were back at the pier by midday despite being told return time was 1:30 or 2pm. They indicated we could view the video at 6pm that evening and would not be in the shop until then.
I felt like the dive schedule was impacting on their social lives. I had left my drink bottle in their shop I was not able to get as I was catching 5pm ferry back to the mainland.
If I go back I would try the other company. I do not like feeling like a number or an inconvenience.

Though most people think this beach is awesome it just feels like you have been here before. Yes the water looks nice, the trees, sand, swimming with the fish, but there's nothing really amazing about. If you're looking for a 20 min stay here this is enough.

This place was a great experience. There is no electricity, generator run. No roads, no golf carts. Hiking only from one spot to another. You can take a boat taxi from one cove to the next. The hiking is steep and takes a while to traverse the place, from beach to beach. Fun port area with great vegan restaurants and shops. I was one of the oldest people on the island, so it is a younger adventure crowd.

The entire island is impressive and a must see.

Take boat rides that last all day so you can see different beaches. If would take too long to walk to all of them but definitely spend time walking around the island.

This place is way overrated on Tripadvisor. There were at least 30 boats and hundreds of people all snorkling at the same place. There were only fishes because people are feeding them with crisp and breadcrumbs. Some boats had loud musics. Don't go there for a quiet and relaxing trip!

Visited during my Meia Volta tour. Pretty spot although not as beautiful as the photos I had seen. Still a nice spot to stop for a bit and go for a swim.....

We booked the half island tour for 100R$. Lagoa verde was the 2nd stoop that is located between a few "islands". The water is really clear and very good for diving. The atmosphere is simply awesome. The
Only annoying thing is that it's crowded with tourists and boats.
