Why do the owners of the pousadas and restaurants in this small, beach side town allow one business to spoil it for everyone else?
The Abroao bay is the main arrival/departure point for the mainland ferries and the numerous excursions and water taxis so the water is not the cleanest. There is a long stretch of sand however, and cleaner, quieter areas can be found with a little walking. If you walk through the forest to nearby beaches the swimming is fantastic!
The biggest problem with Abroao is the one discotheque on the beach. Most of the live music in the restaurants finishes around midnight but then this one venue starts up. Pounding bass music non stop until 4am every night except Monday making it hard to sleep even at the other end of the bay. You expect a resort to be lively and not everyone desires tranquil rest but this is ridiculous!
Close this place down or restrict them to a reasonable finish time, say 1.00am and Abroao would be perfect.

Nice place and almost quiet.
This is the beach you arrive from Paraty port. Nice, with lots of bars and restaurants and Ilha Grande's "downtown" =))))
Go to Lua e Mar restaurant when there.
And if you like, have a look at Pousada Tagomago. Friendly people offer pleasant accommodations there.
But there is one single place that does not fit in the picture... the one blasting music all nite long. BOOO!!!

You won’t be short of places to eat right on the beach.
Watch you children place in the sand & sea - while enjoying a cold fruit juice.
You find a few quiet patches out of season if you want to relax on the beach.
Beautiful views all around with plenty of activity on offer.

Full of life and characters plying business in one of the boat tours or restaurants. Not the best if you want a quiet secluded swim but perfect place to chill with your feet in the golden sand and under the shade of a tree at the end of the day with a drink

Very bad experience. Dirty place, bad smell, poor infrastructure, etc.. I strongly recommend going to another beach in the island, may be you can find something better.

Nice beach facing many problems. There's lack of infrastructure, mainly regarding sanitary disposal. The huge amount of anchored boats on the water makes it difficult for you to find a place to swim. And their anchora lie on the sandy beach becoming a harzadous situation.

Wouldn't particularly like to swim there, as a lot of boats, whizzing about the place. Also not very clean. Lovely to walk along though, plenty of life about.

Get on a boat and go to the other paradise beaches of ilhe grande.
There are lots of places to eat on the beach but they are expensive.
Lots of pollution from all the boats exist. I don't understand the high ratings.

As a town beach this isnt the most attractive on the island. However its a lovely restaurant setting. Several good restaurants line the beach straight on the sand so you can relax at a table or comfy chair and look at the sea.

Agradezco quien me pueda dar información, gracias!
