The beach was beautiful. When walking onto the beach from the trail you will find the more crowded area. The surf was high and the water temp was cold. However, if you walk to the other side, there is relatively no one there and the water is a little less rough but still chilly.

This place would've got 4 stars if I hadn't had to hike a full 20 mins up & down steep hills to get there. Which is difficult in very high heat! Then of course the hike back... and then the 40 min boat ride back to Abraio. TIP - There is a much quieter beach round the tip of the... More

It's rated one of the best beaches in the world, but there are prettier beaches on the island (my tip would be Aventureiro)

This beach is so amazing. white sand, clear water. There's a 20min hike to get there, but it's absolutely worth it.

Beautiful beach with crystalline water, worth visiting by everyone! The trail to Lopes Mendes is level easy. Tip: carry your food. There are no restaurants at Lopes Mendes. And snacks are expensive.

The beach is beautiful but it has big waves and no bathroom so just be prepared. I enjoyed my time there because it was so beautiful. The hike in was hard but that is what keeps the vendors selling everything to you. You can relax and not hear people shouting "buy this, water, coconut, phone case, etc". A very peaceful... More

This is a lovely unspoiled beach. Its quite a hike to get there, even if you take the boat excursion. Expect a 20 minute plus uphill and downhill trek on a path that is very uneven in places. Those with mobility issues will find this a challenge. Once at the beach, there is plenty of shade available at the back... More

There is a good reason why this island is so natural, its because there are no motor vehicles allowed, and there are no paved streets or sidewalks, only pathways on sand. This is a great vacation destination for those who would like a very quiet, slow pace.

Have been both times I have been to Brazil. Hike trough the forest for stunning views and experience and the reward is worth it. Imagine a beach as long as you can see, where you go into the sea and look back and all you see is lush green. Stunning.
