I went on hotel trip here. Comfortable coach ok time connections to boat efficiently handle. Fast boat out to a cool shallow Caribbean Sea swimming area, then onto Sonoa island. A lovely beach with good and drink include (cocktails and beer soft drinks) The beach is like your hotel beach so no big deal there. Not sure what the big deal is. Loads of trip boats combining and going. But an enjoyable trip away from hotel stuff.? Perfect if you like Booze Cruise it was a fun day.

Beautiful, quiet, safe and with a lot of respect and consideration for people. It's a place where you find solidarity. I felt well received. I think if you are able to understand and respect nature and people you will also be very well received. It has great trails, beautiful beach, clean with only the sound of the sea, that is, no noise pollution. Great place to read, do adventures and sleep well. Great place to get to know the culture caiçara, its struggles and preservation of nature.

A mild adventure to get there but entirely worth it. From the Paraty bus station you take the 1040T bus (leaves every hour or so) to the end to a town called Laranjeiras. The roughly 2.5km trail starts within a block of the bus stop and is incredibly well marked and easy to follow. Hike takes about 45 minutes at a decent pace. At the top of the trail, right before you head down into the beach, you are treated to a postcard-perfect view; my wife and I look photoshopped it looks so beautiful. Once you descend you're treated to 1km of sugar-soft sand with a few beach bars and if you come during high season (we didn't), what looks like a restaurant or two (closed during "winter").

From there I'd highly recommend hiking to the next beach, Dos Antigos. To get there hike to the end of Sono and you'll see the trail head; it's a steep climb but once you're at the top it's pretty easy the rest of the way. Dos Antigos is even more deserted and in my opinion, even more beautiful. From there you can go to a smaller third beach.

If you're into meditation go to these two beaches. They will be the memory you use to find that peaceful zen capable of guiding you through even the most hectic of corporate situations.

To get to this beach you have to either come by boat or you can do what we did. Get the bus from Paraty and then walk nearly one hour to the beach through woods. It is a great walk and a great start to the day.
The beach is lovely and quite quiet.
After a few hours on the beach we ate lunch at a restaurant run by two ladies (there are only a couple of restaurants) We had a really nice fish stew and I would recommend it.
You can either walk back to the bus or get a boat back to another place nearer the bus stop.

Getting here is a bit difficult, but definitely worthwhile. You must drive to Laranjeiras Condominium (coming from Paraty driving towards Santos, turn left at trindade, drive up a hill, at the top the road to the right takes you down to Trindaded, whereas the road on the left takes you to Laranjeiras). Once in Laranjeiras park and either take a minivan to the port, or walk through the jungle (about 45 mins). At the port there are boats that will take you out to the beach (15 mins) at 30 reals per person return fare.
The beach beautiful, the water is pristine, and there are several small cafes on the beach. I recommend Janny's place it's in the middle and it's called Casa da Empada, great sandwiches, cold beer and the owner knows the history of the place very well.

This is the best beach in the region. A one hour walk, in a low difficult trail, will take you to a paradisiac beach, with few people, lots of green, plenty of space in the sand to lay down and relax, looking at the beautiful ocean. It is definitely worth it. If you'd like, you can do another half an hour trail, but a harder one, to Antigos beach, at the end of Sono. Important: take an insect repellent, as you'll spend at least two hours inside the woods

Man, this beach is something. My best time in one month in Brazil was spent there. The 1h walk to the beach is beautiful and the beach itself is great (sands, water, waves, river). Nice restaurants as well. We took the boat to go back as it is faster - to enjoy the beach longer in winter. 30 BRL is what we paid.

You can reach this beach by boat or by foot. Try walking, to enjoy a nice forest and great views. It is not that hard. Great place to swim and plenty of shade to escape from the sun. Halfway the beach there is a nice restaurant called Encontro de Artes, that serves a good basic meal.

If you are looking for a private beach - this is the place to go!
Go there by hiking (3.5 km, 60 mins approx) - beautiful surrounding and fun hike (a little slippery when wet but totally doable in flip flops).
Beach has many trees with enough shade for everyone, sweet water shower and small huts with good food!
Back, you can either walk or take the boat (35R per person).

We reached this beautiful beach after a tough walk through the woods. We parked our car at a small private parking place where a 3.1 km trail to the beach started. It's an easy to find path, but quite tough to walk. When we walked the pad it was a bit muddy, so we had to be careful not to slip. It took us 70 minutes to reach the beach, but we saw beautiful nature.
In May the beach is quiet and most restaurants are closed, but there was a small restaurant open where we could have a lunch.
An alternative for the trail back is using one of the small boats offed at the beach. They asked 20R per person, but we walked back.
