Our trip to Rio was during a week on unexpected rain at this time of the year. After another tour were given a great map which listed things to do for different travellers during the day, at night and on a rainy day. Cook In Rio was listed here and we asked, why not? It was the second to last... More

A great way to get to know the brasilian culture and their way of life. Instead of bringing home souvenirs, you can prepare a meal that will and had impresed everyone. :)

Out of all the travels I have made, this cooking class was probably the most "different" thing I have ever done. Usually I'm off to see the tourist sights and exploring the city. When I seen this offered as an activity in Rio I said, "Oooo, that's something different." And it was! Simone, the instructor, was very patient with us... More

hi Frisky! thanks for the full review! We love in depth analysis, like yours, as it allows us to pinpoint where we need to improve! We sent you the recipes a few days ago, coincidentally, so sorry for the delay! Thanks again for coming and thanks for this review! Cheers! Cristiano & Simone! More

This is a must do for delicious food and lots of fun. We made the Brazilian moqueca (fish stew) plus two scrumptious Brazilian appetizers and our own caipirinhas. Simone ensured we all had a great time with lots of talk and sharing cooking stories and customs, as well as cooking and food.

I lived in Rio for two years and every time I had a guests visit me there I would suggest they take a Cook in Rio class. Simone never disappointed. It was always a fun event and a great introduction to Brazilian food and culture. Whether you are a great cook or a beginner, you'll enjoy this experience. Simone does... More

Chef Simone was absolutely fantastic--This was one of the very best experiences I have had in all my travels, and I am no cook (I tend to be impatient and burn almost everything). My daughter, on the other hand, is a good cook and is actually enrolled in a college culinary program in Los Angeles. The incredible thing is that... More

Simone was an excellent host to this cooking class! She taught us not only the history behind a lot of the dishes but also how to make them, tips and tricks for cooking in general and she did it all with an energetic fun attitude! There were quite a few of us in the class so it was more everyone... More

Had the pleasure of attending a cooking class during my most recent Rio visit and I couldn't recommend this activity enough, must do for young and old.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
