My Fiance and I went here on our 10 day trip in Brazil and it was honestly one of our favorite things we did! Simone is such a great personality and very informative. My Fiance is a chef so it was great to see different cooking styles, but this class is for anyone, no cooking skills required. I would recommend... More

Simone was a great teacher, funny and full of energy! It was a great time! She taught us few words in Brazilian and gave us advise on where to go in town, where to eat etc. It was a great experience and the food was delicious!

I had a good time at Simones cooking class. The place is cosy and well situated at Copa Cabana beach. The class gives an overview about Brazilian cousin. Even more than the fresh and delicious Calabresa, Queso, Peixe and Caipirinas Simone herself makes the course special. She can tell a lot and not only about Brazilian food. Need advice where... I visited Cook in Rio twice in order to know how to make Moqueca as well as Feijoada and it was truly a blast! Simone is a fantastic and dedicated chef who also introduces/explains Brazilian lifestyle to her students in a lovely way. I unfortunately did the courses when I was about to move back to Europe, I wish I... More

We had an excellent morning at Cook in Rio, far better than we ever imagined. We learnt both how to cook a fish moqueca and how to make a proper caipirinha, and have since wowed our friends and family with our new skills. Worth every penny.

We have visited chef Simone and her Cook in Rio. Try it. Simone is a fantastic chef and she tells you about Brazil, the food, the people and the culture. You are enriched when you leave both in your stomach and in your mind.

Simone adds a passion and excitement to the experience. She provides a greater understanding of the culture and the makeup of the community, through her cooking class. I'd put this preferably at the beginning of a visit to Brazil, to gain a better understanding of the culture and the foods.

We had a great time with Chef Simone who has a real passion for Brazilian food and the mix of cultures that create the Brazilian way of life. We learnt how to cook mocueqa, the traditional fish stew, and various accompaniments. At each stage of the process, Chef Simone made sure we were having fun whilst learning. She was especially... Our trip to Rio was during a week on unexpected rain at this time of the year. After another tour were given a great map which listed things to do for different travellers during the day, at night and on a rainy day. Cook In Rio was listed here and we asked, why not? It was the second to last... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
