I lived in Leme for my entire stay in Rio. It's quiet and safe, with nice restaurants and shops. It's not very touristy like Copacabana or Ipanema, which I like. It's a good location for seeing the rest of Rio. Great place.

its much less crowded than Ipanema and Copacabana, the beach is just as Beautiful and there are lifeguards, posts, shops and good Restaurants around it. There is also a fort (Morre do Leme) on top of a hill where you can overwatch the whole Copabeach!

Leme beach is beautiful, a bit less crowded than its prosecution, the famous Copacabana beach. When I lived in Rio de Janeiro I enjoyed very much this beach. There is a number of nice restaurants and cafe' just facing the beach.

If you want to get away from the crowd of Ipanema and Copacabana, this is the place to be. However the downside is you do not get to see nor experience the real vibe of Rio.

Part of Copacabana but at the Northern ends and quieter. Still nice beach but good restaurant's around this area. the street one back from the sea front has some nice cheap places to eat full of locals.

We loved it here. It's really worth to come to this place and enjoy the atmosphere. It was full of locals, having fun, dancing and drinking and everyone was happy.

Quite a different feel from Copacobana both for the beach and the surrounding streets. Much smaller than Copacabana as it only goes two streets back from the beach. The two best parts of Leme for me were the Gaia Art & Café and the 'Our...More

Great sandy beach with lots of places to stop, have a beer and watch the football training - late afternoon. Ideal after a day's sightseeing. Claen and safe during daylight hours.
