Very cool and colorful flight of stairs which was left as a gift by Chilean-born artist Jorge Selaron, which consists of tiles, mirrors, lots of Brazilian colors, people began brining tiles from all around the world during it´s construction.

Loved this place and all the colors and art. We had to take a long taxi ride from Copacabanna but worth it. It's in a semi rough part of town so o.k. to go during the day but wouldn't recommend at night. Lots of tourists...More

We “discovered” this place almost accidentally. It was worth every minute spent there. The stairs look very impressive with tiles donated from all over the world. We’ve never seen anything like this anywhere in the world. Highly recommended!

The place would have been much better if Selaron would have not exagerated by using so many red tiles eveywhere. And this is only because he was a fan of Ferrari. The place is very touristic and it has tiles from all over the world....More

A grand mosaic running up a set of steps in Lapa. For me, this is one of my favourite spots in Rio because it is unique and artsy so it makes a perfect photo opportunity. It's also a good spot to just chill and watch...More

Very popular these days and when I was there, three musical acts were on (forro, MPB and reggae). A nice party atmosphere.

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.

I went from Copacabana by tube, from Cardeal Arcoverde Station to Carioca Station, and walk a few blocks see the Cathedral and the Lapa Archs.
