It is beautiful and easy to get there! The beach has a lot of tent for food and drinks, you can see people selling things in the beach too!
You should prove mate and shrimps in the beach!

I prefer Leme over Copacabana, it feels calmer and safer. You also have a great view of the whole beach if you go to the rock at the beginning of it.

At Leme beach there is no sewage treatment. Sewage is discharged straight in the sea at the canal 1.
I do not recommend to visit that beach.

This is a nice corner at the esge of Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro. However, today those who were inLeme and Copacabana witnessed a theatre of horror. One so called carnival party block, which has nothing to do with samba nor anything taht belongs to Carnival, was allowed by the City Adm to parade and perform an event at Copacabana. Mobs attacking people, dirt all around, savagery and insecurity were to be shown.
The only advice that can. Be given is: do not come to Rios’s carnival this year! Corruption and insecurity all over!

The beaches sort of run together. This section is not much different from the others. Beautiful and everything you might want or need is available.

We stayed here for 10 days as a family of 4 with 2x <10 year olds. The area was safe, even at night, well lit, a reasonable number of decent restaurants (though you can also grab an uber for cheap, so we ate elsewhere >50% of the time). The beach is quieter than the main Copacabana and Ipanema strips, with fewer hawkers and far less traffic (due to the road being a dead end). Highly recommended for young families.

Note, being nearer the rocks, the waves can be slightly rougher, but that also attracts the surfers, which are fun to watch for all ages!

As a matter of fact, "Praia do Leme" and "Praia de Copacabana" are exactly the same beach. "Praia do Leme" is just the very beginning of world acclaimed "Praia de Copacabana". Arriving at "Praia de Copacabana", take your left all the way down and you will arrive at "Morro do Leme", a hill marked by a Brazilian flag at its top, where lies "Forte Duque de Caxias". "Praia do Leme" is about 1km long and is known for its white and soft sands, as well as by its blue, clean and "cold" waters. At the base of "Morro do Leme", a sidewalk - "Caminho dos Pescadores" - circles the hill and is pretty much used by local fishermen. Beach kiosks, with meals, snacks and beverages complete the scene. If time is not a constraint, you can walk all the way up to the fort and flag (only 800m) at a small fee, paid at the fort's entrance. From the top, awesome views of "Pão de Açúcar", "Copacabana" and even Corcovado's "Cristo Redentor". The trail is not very steep and, as it is inside a military area, very safe. One last remark: avoid walking along beach's sidewalk in late evenings. Enjoy!

Go to Copacabana beach and face the sea, If you follow the sidewalk to the left, you'll arrive to Leme. Keep walking until you'll arrive to a hill. The neighborhood is usually safe, because there's a military base near this hill. Turn right and follow the path, which is usually full of fisherman. You'll have an impressive view of Copacabana beach. The sunset is amazing.
