I really liked it. Very peaceful place right in the big city of Rio. Once you get in, you completely forget that you are in such a big city. Just relax and enjoy peace looking at fantastic examples of plants, including Pau-Brasil, a tree that can't be found anymore in the country as the Portuguese in the 1500 took away... More

The gardens are very interesting with the variety of plants, its a relaxing and pleasant day out. Streams with small waterfalls and ponds with some very interesting fish. It is pretty big but well signed and nice paths to walk along. Away from the beach where it was extremely hot it was very pleasant to have shade and cooler (slightly).... More

Brazil is the only country in all Americas that had a king. In 1808 when the kingdom of Portugal moved to Brazil, the King D. Joao created the Botanic Garden in Rio. Till now is very well conserved and in my oppinion is the most beautiful Botanic Garden in the world. I reccomend if you like the nature.

Jardim Botanico is located in a very central area in Rio, close to Gavea, Leblon, Lagoa, Humaitá and Botafogo. It's a beautiful and quite big which makes it perfect for a power walk or a lazy stroll to better observe the plants and trees and small animals. There is also a park for children to play in and a nice... More

The gardens are a perfect place to take some time out from the buzz of Rio and shade under the many beautiful trees. The gardens are large enough to spend at least 2/3 hours and contain a large variety of exotic plants and trees. I regard the gardens as one of the highlights of Rio.

Jardim Botanico is located walking distance from Leblon and Gavea and offers everything you need after a hectic day in the city. Take a walk in the cool and shady garden and relax. At the other end of the garden, to the Vista Chines side, there are an exit, go out and find some very nice coffeeshops and restaurants.

It's nice, but basically only the palm walkway. Nice to hide under the hot sun ☀️ the rest garden for me was so so . 15 reals for a person, could be cheaper .
