Didn’t find it better or more exciting than many other famous beaches I have visited. I was actually surprised by how small it is in length from what I imagined. I think the better part to be is by Post 4.

Get up early and walk along the beach at sun rise. It’s a beautiful place day and night and at no point did I feel unsafe. There are market stalls in the evening to pick up nice suveniers, and you can take in the sun...More

It’s a huge area with a lot of sand but also a lot of pavement and cars except Sundays, as the road is closed for car traffic. The best way to explore the area is riding along the beach on an Itau bike. There is...More

Stayed in a hotel opposite this beach from 1st to 14th June. Fantastic atmosphere, especially at night when the "calcadao" the wide pavement bordering the beach is full of life and music. But, make sure you wear nothing that might look expensive. Definitely nothing in...More

I thought I would really like Copacabana, I was looking forward to visiting but have to admit that Ipanema is so much nicer. it's obviously a tourist trap and we got hassled a lot daytime/early evening, some very strange people around, it felt a little...More

Lovely for watching a sunset or just strolling down! It was pretty empty today due to the World Cup match (Brazil game) but it’s usually the touristy beach of the ones around Rio

One of the prettiest beaches, but since the violence in Rio de Janeiro has increased significantly, it is kind of dangerous.

Copacabana is a beautiful beach with a unique vibe and energy. Unfortunately you will be encountered by dozens of smugglers trying to rip you of with falls selling technics. Also beware of all the drug dealers that will try to sell you from marijuana to...More

I thought I’d see the famous beach but it was a let down. It was run down and smelt. The beach near my hotel which was further out was one of the nicest beaches I’ve been on and far more relaxing. Don’t bother going out...More

Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional
and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood
is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and
traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of
everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs,
chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and
more live side-by-side. There are options for all
price points and tastes. However, the most powerful
