If you come from Barra da Tijuca you can stop and watch the paragliders and hang gliders just where the beach starts. It's not so crowded like Barra da Tijuca or Copacabana but be careful where you decide to put your things because the area...More

Nice beach, much quieter than Copacabana and Ipanema. The main reason people visit is to go hang gliding or paragliding. It's a great landing spot if you doing some gliding and a great observation spot if your not

Sao Conrado beach is not crowded like the beaches of Ipanema and Leblon. It's a residential area with beautiful view. Cons are that there are no people selling chairs and umbrellas and when it rains the beach gets dirty. It's not a touristy spot.

I went hang gliding with an instructor from Clube Sao Conrado De Voo Livre and I landed on Sao Conrado Beach. Nice, soft sand makes for a soft landing...a good place to land a glider and yourself without injury.
