The best part of Ipanema is the far most part of the beach, towards Leblon, the absolutely most exclusive area of Rio. This pristine beach is calm and quiet, and I can only be happy to have found it, and could get away from the...More

If you think Ipanema is too crazy, keep on walking until you get to Leblon beach. Quieter, more families, but the same great surf and beach. Recommended especially for weekends.

we loved Leblon beach, with its thin white sand, blue water and waves, the views of the morros and the small bars and restaurants. We rented some beach chairs and an umbrella at very reasonable prices and spend several hours relaxing in the beach.

Leblon beach is part of the same 3.6 kilometre stretch of sand as Ipanema Beach and Arpoador Beach. Leblon is the beach furtherest west and is separated from Ipanema Beach by the Canal do Jardim de Alah which flows from the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas...More

This area is monumental, high rise modern residential buildings and fancy villas along some side streets. Our tour bus had a short break there. The beach is less crowded, we didn’t swim but the waves were calmer compared to Copacabana beach. We had coconut drinks...More

Leblon is the place to stay on the beach if your travel has time under the sun. The beach is beautiful, not very crowded, unless if it is a sunny weekend, and offer great views for pictures. The sunset is a must.

Enjoy beach and lunch combo. Take some hours at the sand, drink some "Mate" and coconut water. Reserve your self some more hours to have lunch at one of the many bars and restaurants in area.

Leblon has more locals, less tourists so you need to go a few blocks in to find food, but worth it. Beach as good as the better known, but with more space. Worth considering if you don't need to say you went to Copacabana! Underground train...More

We enjoyed this beach toward the end of Ipanema. Less crowded with quite a social vibe. Ended up coming back here a few times despite staying in Ipanema.

A more relaxed and less hectic beach than Copacabana. Great shops and cafes. A lovely place to visit. Shops more upmarket.

In addition to being one of the most upscale
neighbourhoods in the city, Leblon is charming,
elegant and simple. This posh area has some of the
most famous and expensive restaurants in Brazil, along
with some of the city’s best nightlife (including some
places open all night). One of the best places to
visit is the beach, located under the impressive
“Morro Dois Irmãos” (Two Brothers Hill). It’s a
