Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.

We knew what we were getting into visiting this market and it did not disappoint! There is SO MUCH STUFF at this place and it was a lot of fun walking though it! We enjoyed not being accosted by the vendors (which happens in other places we visit), and were simply in awe taking it all in. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking to buy... well, anything! :-)

We went shopping for souvenirs in bulk, if it comes we will take a while to find, in fact we find in bulk the same thing that they sold in Copacabana. In addition, the clothes are convenient, many AAA brand replicas. It is a little far away, I recommend from the tourist area and I recommend going by Uber.

They have good prices, and good quality, a lot to see and compare, there is a lot of variety in clothes, wallets, you have to go with a couple of hours in time, I was buying what I liked.

After 19 years, we travel again to Rio de Janeiro. Always entertaining, I'd be back for the sixth time. Always missing time, we stayed 6 nights. We got a little rain and it was the only thing a little unpleasant, since I live in a very rainy area.

It is a fair with brands that are not original but quite good replicas.
There is variety although the fabrics are not the best.
Obviously the prices are affordable and you can haggle.

I thought it would be more innovative and picturesque. I think there are few crafts and souvenirs. It is more of a neighborhood for citizens than a tourist place.

Unmissable destination. The people, their history.
Landscapes… all unmissable.
San Salvador de Bahia… Paraty.
There is no place in Rio without history or beauty to visit!

I went to copacabana and ipanema. Everything wonderful! The incredible views. From drink to ipanema by bus. Beautiful days. The fair was not what I expected. The divine people. 4 days were not enough for me. The change did not favor me. Very delicious food! Full of neighborhoods and places to eat. Crystal clear water and a little cold and with waves

Typical market in Rio de Janeiro, for shopping for souvenirs, sweets and clothing in general, many shops and passages to look at! You have to go with time to see everything!

As always, there is everything... but since it is a popular fair, there should be better prices. It should be noted that it has public bathrooms, which are rare in Rio de Janeiro and they charge you 3 reais. Easy to get to by bus or metro.
