Parque Portugal is built around Taquaral Lake and conveniently located near the downtown area in the city of Campinas, SP. The highlight for many patrons is the wide, hard-packed, dirt walkway circumventing the lake. Shaded by a ring of trees, some close to a century old, the road is swept almost daily and offers a magnificent place for walking/running. Geese and water fowl often adorn the lakeshore. The facility encompasses a variety of leisure options such as: pedal boats, children's playground, small amphitheater for community events, a working streetcar, in-door gymnasium, outdoor courts, outdoor swimming pool, and even a full-sized replica of an old Portuguese galleon ship! Access is free to the public as is parking in several lots scattered around the perimeter. If you are looking for a great place to get in your daily steps, look no further!

A unique park, greenery and very cute secrets, with excellent services. The best thing is the lagoon and the secrecy that runs around its perimeter. The Carabela is a must, very well maintained and a unique experience. The food in the shops is very stocked, I loved the coconut water, excellent service.

A great place to visit and spend 1-2h
We spent the morning walking and snapping photos at this park.
It's a very well looked after Park, with a little train that still runs around the old track and loads of super tall leafy trees, and rich fauna!
We saw capybaras, angola hens, ducks, all sorts of birds, all wandering free and healthy within the park.
In the middle of the lake this water-fountain "plays" classical music from loudspeakers around it.
Beyond the fountain you can see the famous "Caravel" replica, built and launched in 1972, and recently refurbished in September 2018. This vessel is a replica of the "nau Anunciação" which bought Pedro Álvares Cabral to Brazil, in 1500. This is a must-see spot in Campinas!

This is a great park in a nice area of town. We've lived in Campinas for 9 years and this park just keeps getting better. Our kids would play in the sand park when they were little and the other parents were always friendly and fun to talk to. The track around the park is a great place to stroll or get a work out. One of our favorite things are the salty pastries (pastel) and Sugar Cane juice for lunch. So many other things to do and see, check it out for yourself.

Parquet Portugal is a beautiful place to go for a walk or even go jogging around the lake. You can also take a ride in a small boat but that requires you as the engine. There are some birds in cages. Also there are little shops where you can buy food. I always take a stroll when I’m in the neighborhood.

Nice place to walk, run, even eat (some food trucks are parked in front of main entrance). There are sports facilities for free to everyone.

Dirty, smelly, and not safety. Few friends had their bicycles stolen on the daylight. Inside had a lot of nice activities to do for all ages, soccer fields, gymnasium, etc but u have to pay attention on your staff and yourself all the time to not being robbed...

If you are in Campinas, you should visit this spot: it's quiet and you will have some options to do like drink a coco water, walking, cycling or just sit and look around.
traffic jam from 5pm to 8pm.

It may not compare with the other city parks around the world, but that is the place to see and enjoy while in Campinas. You can choose to walk or run around it, or just sit under the many trees, grab a snack on the many tents around it or simply breath its fresh air. It can be very crowded on the week-ends and on some special events.

Se não me engano, continua R$ 10,00.
Acho que de semana realmente não funciona.
Written August 9, 2019
