The museum is nicely located in the Bosque park, where agoutis and some macaque monkeys roam freely. Tickets for the zoological museum and aquarium are 5 reais, really not too much. The zoological museum mainly has displays (dioramas is the name I think) with animals...More

It is not a place that you would visit unless you are a biologist, or very interested in animals, but if you ever visit the Bosque dos Jequitibas, spend a while on this place.

You get both for the price of one, it's self guided, but interesting and worth the fee to check it out. Lots of interesting history of the animals and aquatic life (including snakes and reptiles) from the area. Fun history lesson.

For a town as big as Campinas you expect a better museum. The entrance fee is cheap but what you see inside is a reflection of it. Some animals, a few spider, scorpions etc but nothing you haven't seen in any other decent natural history...More
