It's a beautiful beach running a long stretch and with many eateries/attractions on the way. Staying at Sheraton, the beach was 5 minutes walk and hence would love to come here for morning jog and evening walks. Their are many cabanas and beach chairs where one can relax and have food with fresh caipirinhas. Would love to go for a swim in the eveneings and have dinner nearby restaurants. Overall it's a very clean beach and lovely place to be.

So on our day in Sao Paulo we hired a guide who drove us to the coast. A super drive into the countryside and to get to our lunch stop at Guaruja ('Tahiti') we took this ferry...

I've been to Caribbean, Greek Islands, California, Hawaii, Côte D'Azur, Italian Riviera, and so on. Then, I found out that the most beautiful attraction in a shoreline was at Ponta da Praia Beach, just a few miles away from home. Watching the sunset there while sipping a beer and tasting a shrimp is simply awesome!

Ponta da Praia is known for being the quietest beach in Santos. One of the mains reasons due to the location (the furthest point in Santos from Downtown). But it is a great place to sit down at the beach and enjoy a quiet and peaceful day.

However, I would not recommend going to the water, since this beach is very close to the Port entrance and is very affected by the ship's ballast water. So if you are in to swim a little or practicing a watersport like surf, I would recommend you going somewhere else.

We had so much fun in this beach.Though it was my business travel to Sao Paulo but we twice went to Santos to enjoy the beach and it was worth it. Food & Drinks on the beech add to the fun.

Quiet, safe and a fantastic view of all the Santos beaches.
Specially near MacDonalds You can find more free space in the sands. But aware of your safety: DO NOT use jewerly, expensive sunglasses, and Don't show off too much your cell phone or digital cam. Just for be safer.

I have gone a couple of times to Santos since it is fairly close to Sao Paulo. Nevertheless, it is not worth it. If you drive an hour more, you can find a better beach. I have prohibited my husband from taking me to Santos. I am from the Caribbean, and this beach and city for me is simply depressing.

The restaurants around the beach serve good food thou.

The harbor is very big and there are huge ships that sail there. The harbor has a security system. The harbor is very well organized. When sailed the harbor we could see the shoreline, the sea and the horizon.
From there, more than 100 million tons of coffee, orange juice, and mainly sugar are transported annually. And how are these foods transported? They are carried by cargo ships, that are used for the transporting of the food all around the word.
In the past its name was Santos Porto das Naus. It started off as a very small harbor and nowadays it is the biggest and most important in Latin America.
