The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

I think Ibirapuera park is the only going around place except Paulista street. If you want to escape a little bit slience from the crowded city, you can go to this park. For security in my opinion, evening time not suitable. While walking in the park be careful about bicycles, because they don't use the bicycle road. Sao Paulo'da Paolista... More

Sunday afternoons are an international classic; think of NYC central park combined with Bei Hai (Temple of Heaven) in Beijing... then mix in some South Beach happiness, and bingo you have Ibirapuera. Watch out for the skateboarders who get very enthusiastic.

This park is in the middle of a bustling area of Sao Paulo. It is a mixture of tranquil gardens and walks, lakes and sporting activities where the locals play soccer and basketball. From the local hotels, it is a short walk, and well worth the visit.

A very nice park. One of the best outdoor places to go while in Sao Paulo. Very good for exercising and to wander with friends and family.

Most other parks in SP are really poor: dirty, small and with no redeeming features. This one has a decent size, is much better maintained (although not quite on the level of Hyde Park or Central Park) and has some decent attractions in it. The museum of modern art (MAM) has some interesting exhibitions and a decent restaurant and the... More

The park is big and can please almost everybody. It's the locals favourite. Wear confortable shoes and clothes.  If you like nature: you can have a nice sample in the middle of the big city! There's a great variety of trees and plants. It's good to take a walk, rest, run (the run track - pista de corrida - is... More

it does my heart good to see so many families, young lovers, weekend athletes and dog lovers enjoy this beautiful city park with playing fields, lake, bike trails and museums. Right in the city.
