The museum is quite small and the exhibited pieces are quite dull - but maybe it is just me figuring out that I'm not into modern art. The gift shop has quite a lot of cool items and the café/restaurant is very nice and affordable.

The building is interesting architecturally but the exhibitions so-so. I fear that this is a result of the lack of government support that arts & culture are experiencing in Brazil. The collection is primarily Brazilian modern & contemporary. But for 6R admission (less than $2 USD), it’s worth a quick turn, even if just to walk through the spaces. And... More

Museum is in the Ibirapuera Park, lovely "central park" of Sao Paulo. There were several special exhibits at the time we visited, but we liked best the display of some ancient preColumbian artifacts in conjunction with modern pieces. That exhibit synthesis was thought provoking.

This fantastic museum of modern art has a new exhibition of Alfredo Volpi, called Pequenos formatos. Around 70 pieces shown studies of further paintings in a much bigger size. Besides the geometric painting it can be seen others, landscapes and paint in tiles. Very interesting the study of colors. MAM is surroinded by the "Sculpture's garden"

This museum is in the park and the exhibits are constantly changing but on the day we visited the theme was a ‘mother earth’ one that dealt with the words of Saint Francis Assissi in a modern context. The exhibits are complex in their simplicity and you might think ‘I could easily do that.’ I am thinking of an installation... More

Located in the best park in São Paolo, this small museum always offers interesting exhibitions that are generally well curated. Also a nice way to cool off in the air conditioned building if the heat in park is too much for you! A small but comfortable restaurant / bar. Every time I visit São Paolo I go to this museum.

Its small but has some interesting work. If you are walking in the Ibirapuera park, stop by and have a look. It's only 6 real entrance (free on Sunday) but it is closed on a Monday. It has contemporary work by different artists from around the globe brought together by one theme. It has a nice little café if you... More

Nice and interesting exhibition. Worth seeing, when you are in the park. Take a jacket with you. Due to the a/c it is cold inside the building.
