I would recommend the visit on a Sunday when there's a street market, most of the shops are open as well. To go there by metro, stop at the Liberdade station.

Great place to walk around, eat some authentic Japanese food and buy Japanese items. Plenty of restaurants, Japanese supermarkets, shops with clothes, kitchen, decoration etc.

Was there on Saturday. Many shops and stands but most of the goods are chinese and does not worth the money. Nothing beautiful to see so save your precious time.

If you like all things Japanese, it's a good way to travel there without spending 24 hours in a plane. It is an entire neighbourhood celebrating the traditions, food and etc of Japan in the heart of São Paulo.

products and restaurants with diverse Asian cuisines.
Liberdade is a world unto its own - you may forget you
are in São Paulo. The streets are decorated with red
lamps and there are various markets. On the weekends,
there is a great street fair at Liberdade Square,
