Quiet beach, with equally quiet sea! and with small strip of sand! Access is all by asphalt road. We parked for $30 but we saw that some people leave their cars on the street. We went on a Saturday in January, there were several families, but still I wasn't crowded, I believe in other times it's even quieter!
There are kiosks with tables and chairs and some serve lunch ($65), but if you prefer to bring your own drinks and meals, it is quite quiet! Just arrive early to ensure a place in the shade of some trees that exist on site!

What a lovely place!
Small bay of very quiet waters, traditional fishing village on the north coast of Ubatuba. Green waters, and very quiet. We came to meet and have lunch at the restaurant Porto do Engenho.
Wonderful!! If you had the opportunity, try.

It's a small fishing village. Very nice, clean beach, totally worth it. calm water, nice little restaurants. When I visited it was very empty, only a few other people, I imagine that in high season it has more movement, but either way I recommend it. to get to it you can take a local bus from the centre of Ubatuba, it's super cheap.

The fishing village of Picinguaba is an half hour drive from Paraty and 4 hours from either Rio or San Paulo. We spent a few hours on the village beach when we were staying at the local Pousada Picinguaba (see my review of that). The village beach shares space with fishermen and their gear and huts and in the bay bob their boats and other pleasure craft so it is very pretty. Along the narrow village street are parked cars and a few cafes and bars. Walk on and cross a small river and you reach a long beach stretching, I believe, over 3 km. It is near empty. We swam from one of the schooners (that does day cruises from Picinguaba) at that beach on a lovely day and there were few families enjoying that golden stretch. It is pretty, the water fairly shallow and the altogether very pleasant.

The beach is lined by the fishing village of Picinguaba (which apparently means the bay with many fish). One end is used by the fishermen for landing catch, cleaning nets and gutting fish. A lot of dodgy looking vultures hang around that end and keep the beach clean. Overhanging trees supply some shade. There are bars and cafes dotted along the main street. And fast boat guys who'll take you out to one of the islands for the day (worth it - much better water visibility). Just an ordinary unpretentious family beach. Picinbar at the far end did, as far as we were able to ascertain, the best food.

Nice sandy beach with good swimming. Water taxis to take you across the bay to the islands or other beaches. Cafes & restaurants close by. Not at all touristy.

Like the typical atmosphere of a fishing village . The whole community was preparing and cleaning the streets and small beaches to get visitors Holidays fine year . The skilful pilot CACAU of speedboat took us up to the Cabbage Island in 15 minutes . Cool trip. Always wear your life vest and require this from him. Negotiate the ticket at the time . Look for others who want to go to the island . The fishing boats are in the harbor and they are mending their nets . There are small houses for rent on site . The French Hotel is expensive for Brazilian standards (Reais) but who comes with euro currency stayed with the best location in town . We had lunch for the second time in a little restaurant by the sea. Is at the end of the paved road right before prainha workshops and networks . The manager is a man from São Paulo 60 years and lived in Ubatuba and now works and meets there and this tuned in everything that happens outside . But the important thing was that the Red Fish of the species was a delight and delicious spice . You can see the lady making food in the kitchen . The salad comes in generous portion . Simple but delicious . The spirit of residents are receptive . Recommend eating and sitting on the deck enjoying the beautiful view

Small beach, next to a large beach (Fazendinha), a jewel in the middle of Santos/Rio or vice versa.....place for those who want to escape from the 'loca' life. Hiking, eating fresh seafood...

Excellent beach to bring family.
Access is quite easy because it is an entrance of the Rio-Santos and is all asphalted.
Quiet beach with almost nothing of waves. It's short and with fine sand. A little dumb, but nothing dangerous.
Short strip of sand, but you can catch the sun.
Some restaurants in the surrounding area.
It has a small continuation of the beach, more towards southeast. In this, there is more movement due to boat tours.
Crystalline, but cold water!
